PATRICK, Hello, as soon as I saw this rig, I knew that the ONLY THING MB, was the BODY & Engine, MBs 4wd, is made by an outside company, warranted by MB, so this had larger tyres, & the LIFT was wonderful , now THIS IS A RIG, nothing I see that I don’t like , great interview Cheers 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

That's a Naturehead composting toilet. It's what's called an urine diverting dry earth toilet and the fan is to ensure aerobic bacterial action instead of anaerobic which is what you'll get with a black water toilet. Aerobic decomposition doesn't smell but aerobic action does. Keeping the compost turned and the fan going and no objectionable odours will form. The peat moss is also optional after first being set up as rather than emptying the bucket, you can empty half of the bucket and the partially decomposed waste remaining will do what the peat moss was intended for, this will also help carry the desired aerobic bacterial culture. Of course, such a toilet is a living toilet so if the van is in constant use as a home then great, but if it"s to be unused for any period of time, the toilet should be emptied, scrubbed out and restarted with peat moss when you do decide to continue using it. There are three well knien commercial urine diverting dry earth toilets, Natureshead, Airhead and C-head, both Natureshead and Airhead run about a thousand dollars each, the C-head runs about $500 but is essentially a 5 gallon bucket, a funnel to divert the urine, a hand crank and a normal toilet seat. You can easily make one yourself.

Dang this van is incredible! I love the interior look a lot and I’m super glad to see dual swivel seats I feel that really is a must. I never use an oven so I would take that out personally for maybe a lounge bench for a second bed with more storage or a larger swivel table for like an office or dinette :)
@seawaynebowpeacecoralsea58344 жыл бұрын
Nice van. Very well done and a lot of good work has gone into the vehicle. A lot of people are commenting and wishing you well. So am I. What I have noticed is that you have pipes with water and electrical equipment in a situation where one day inevitably something is going to get punctured , broken or will come loose. My opinion is that the inverter should be put somewhere else away from those water pipes that appear to be over the top of it. It all improves with time but I’m sure others will comment and you will find a better place for the inverter. All the best in 2021. It will be the new decade..
@JohnVigg3 жыл бұрын
I love this van. Mine is often confused for his, people are constantly texting me that they’ve seen me and it took a while to figure out this is the van they are referring to. Two things though, that propane storage is quite scary!! I’d also move the inverter and water lines away from each other. Especially since there are connections made right above it. Keep up the great videos.

The first thing I noticed was the PEX plumbing directly above the inverter. It would be bad enough to spring a leak, let alone have the water take out the inverter as well. I would move the inverter away from potential exposure to water. Otherwise, a nice van

Neat but my problem with these vans is that they’re so damn tight in the interior. I looked at a million of these but decided to go the travel trailer route for more room and put in an order for the new Airstream Basecamp 20x for delivery this spring. I live in northern Wisconsin so didn’t order from Patrick but it was his detailed review of the 20x that sold me. Good video as usual.

Really neat rig, I like the fit/finish details on the cabinets like the leather drawer pulls...nothing to get snagged on. Two points for Jesse: 1) Serious foul not offering a beer at the start and 2) You CAN use magnets in this van, just screw (or glue) a fender washer anywhere you want a magnet to stick, you already have screws in the wood anyway right?
