You popping retrieve is like what I do in Louisiana. It’s called, Pontchatrain Pop - it’s a 2-4 up pop, then pause to the bottom until you see that bow in line. They hit on the fall, puts the lure in their face longer, but if I was over grass, I’d do like you and work it higher to keep it from being tangled in grass. Good job explaining it to your clients, it’s a shame, when they get relaxed on retrieve, keep that tip up!

Thanks man! It's the best way I have found to fish shallow grass with a jig head and not catch the grass. I think the jig head has better action than a weedless swimbait hook and a better hook up ratio too. Plus they hit it very often on that retrieve.
