Beast Wars Scorponok Appreciation

It's incredible the beating the predacons can take without dying and yet falling in the lava in their own base kills them. Terrorsaur literally got blown into pieces at one point, and yet he appeared brand new the next episode, but then suddenly both him and Scorponok fall in the lava without anyone taking any notice. I barely even noticed it watching.

I think I recall reading somewhere they were written off due to poor toy sales. However, I think it was a poorly written demise, same with Tigertron and Airrazor

Fantastic! Put another in the 'win' column. A lighthearted take on our extra appendaged arachnid lieutenant was the right way to go. Great ending clip. Honestly the only clip I can think of to add would be when Megs is running down the dark hallway in "Gorilla Warfare" screaming Scorpinok's name. Keep 'em comin'!

He was definantly my favorite predacon from the first season, but the way he died was so lame! I remember the first time I saw it I was like '...are you serious?' Great memories and great vid =)

what I was implying was that soundwave and scorponok were useful in different ways, soundwave was subtle, whilst scorponok wasn't. So basically, as being soundwaves counterpart, scorponok was useless, but as an evil equivalent of grimlock, he was useful.

Heh, my theory is that normally he's rather smart, but, for several reasons*Cough*crush*cough*, just can't manage to think when Megatron's around, and does everything he can to try and impress Megatron which, when combined with the aforementioned idiocy, leads to quite a bit of trouble.

Scorponok was useful, I think with more time he could have gotten better maybe if he got the transmetal upgrades... I know Starscream was in Beastwars but Terrasaur was still just like him.

Actually both Scorponok and Terrorsaur survived falling into the lava and became transmetals, but they were trapped and weren't able to escape until after the Beastwars were over, but what happens to them after that is unknown.

tarantulas would be a better soundwave counterpart, if you consider soundwave as an entirely self serving creature, serving megatron until the apt moment to replace him. but inferno could also be a soundwave counterpart in the idea of him being a blindly loyal fanatic capable in reconnaisance and combat. Dinobot is a progression of blitzwing, but a more intelligent, and autobot/maximal friendly progression.

@KennyKillah3 Transmetals can't survive in lava. Transmetal Tarantulas is badly damaged when he pulls hiomself out of lava in season 3, and he was only in the lava for a second. Any longer and he probably would have melted. Megetron also would have died in the lava, the only reason he didn't was because he mutated into a transmetal 2. So Scorponok and Terrorsaur died, ignoring the silly EU nonsense. .
