This is my all-time favorite performance and song of the Beastie Boys. I can't believe this doesn't have more views. With it being the first ever live performance of it, it seems like they came out onto that stage with extra energy ready to present this new material that was straight fire. Ad-Rock's performance in particular was stellar. The beer, outfit, middle fingers and extra enthusiastic vocal delivery just screams absolute gangster to me. His dance moves are awesome, but Mike D's in particular are even better. The emotion that comes out of Mike D in his rapping and moves go hand and hand like peanut butter and jelly. It's so smooth. I particularly love the badass look he gives Ad-Rock right before switching it over to him at 0:54. MCA is reserved as usual and totally lets Mike D and Ad-Rock take the attention. Don't get it twisted, though. MCA's voice is on point and his head-shake vocal delivery is so cool. I love how the boys keep the song fresh by not playing it exactly how it is on the record. An example of this is MCA's use of multiple more f-bombs which I catch rapping to myself instead of repeating the studio version. Another example is the added use of bongos which is a nice touch. Furthermore, as far as MCA goes, I love how in to Mike D's verse he is in the background at 1:19. I also love the emphasis that MCA puts on the "GOT" at 2:36. Back to Ad-Rock and Mike D. Their chemistry in particular is so good, especially at 2:09-2:21 when they are so in sync. MCA just watches in awe with a smile on his face. This was an absolutely awesome moment. Another really amazing moment comes near the last quarter of the performance when Mike D changes the lyrics at 2:50 from "listen to wax, I'm not using the CD" to "listen to wax and I'm lookin' like Stevie (Wonder)." Ad-Rock literally laughs mid-verse, but has the ability to contain himself and regain control to deliver the rest of the line with absolute perfection. Don't let MCA's grin go unnoticed in the background as well, haha. One final great moment was all three members joining in on the "ill communication" line at 3:11. It's no surprise that playing Sure Shot when it first came out were some of the most memorable moments of DJ Hurricane's career. Just a truly remarkable performance all around that gives me goosebumps.

It’s so cool to me when people totally geek out about music. Make me realize “oh shit! There’s other people out there like me!” But this definitely wasn’t the first performance of sure shot because they performed it in 1994 on SNL. So glad to see other people still trio about the beastie boys. One of the best groups imo. Creatively

Nice switch up from Mike on the lyrics "looking like Stevie" instead of "Not using the CD" 🙏🏼
