Your videos are great...thank you!! Tip: When using a cue point during juggles, don't hit the cue button until you have a hand on the platter. Eliminates the extra movement. I had to force myself to do this because it seems natural to hit the button then put a hand on the platter.

Juggling with cue points isnt really juggling in my eyes. Whats making junggling so great is back spinning the platters an hitting the right beat...when taking this out of the equation is taking away the magic

Good tutorial for beginners. The technology makes this easy for beginners. No more orange stickers on the vinyl 😂. But if you’ve been doing this on the vinyl it should propel us old school heads into god mode.

Yo Anthony. Are you using Serato DJ? You can actually change your latency in the settings within the software.

@DJLiftOFF

Yes!! I think you’re referring to phrasing and understanding how to count properly in order to drop the song at the right time. I actually started recording a video similar to that a while back, but I ended up scratching it. Need to revisit that! I’m also going to be dropping a livestream show soon too, so I might be able to show you live. We shall see. Stay tuned 🙏🏾

What's up lift off. Can you show your Rane MK 2 set up? I have the same thing, but while I'm practicing my record slides down the spindle and the record gets tighter and tighter. It gets to the point where I can't do a full backspin rotation. That and my marker slowly shifts, so by the time I'm on backspin 10 it's no longer where I started.
@DJLiftOFF
@DJLiftOFF 2 жыл бұрын
Yoo! I actually only have the originals 12s, wish I had MK2s tho. And mine actually do the same to an extent when I try and do a very long backspin. I’m assuming yours are slowing down too fast even on short back spins?
@DJLiftOFF
@DJLiftOFF 2 жыл бұрын
And hmm, that’s weird that the marker slowly shifts. Are you referring to right after you do the backspin?
@DeeJay_IMB
@DeeJay_IMB 2 жыл бұрын
@@DJLiftOFF when I first start I bring the record to the top of the groove if that makes sense. I saw a video scratch bastid did. He suggested doing that if you want a longer smoother backspin. It works, but it’s temporary.
@DeeJay_IMB
@DeeJay_IMB 2 жыл бұрын
@@DJLiftOFF I like to scratch with my marker at 1 o’clock. After a couple juggles 1 o’clock is no longer my start point. It’s more like 1:15. I doubt want to look at the screens, but it sound like I’m off because I start missing the one

Appreciate you OG! And yeah, I’ve only seen videos and spoken with a few people who DJ’d pre 2000s and man, I don’t know how many would survive back then carrying vinyl around alone aha. Much respect always to the pioneers.

this isn't beat juggling this is back spinning … your talking about looping bars its 4 bars not 4 beat juggles . back spinning is the basics of looping a break.. beat juggling is the manipulation of a song to create a new beat.
@DJLiftOFF
@DJLiftOFF Жыл бұрын
Tried to more so cover the basic fundamentals and planned to do various parts that got more in depth. Back spinning is obviously an important element but I agree - it’s definitely the manipulation to create something new.
@ericsutton9853
@ericsutton9853 Жыл бұрын
That’s. Not beat juggling, juggling is creating different sound off of kicks and snares. That’s just back spinning some what, because you are using the cue , but everybody doesn’t have those kind of mixers.
@DJLiftOFF
@DJLiftOFF Жыл бұрын
It’s more so re-creating a new beat or rhythm. The basics of beat juggling, however, requires these movements where you learn to back spin and drop sounds on beat. I originally planned to do various parts that built up to beat juggling but didn’t make it all the way thru. It’s pretty hard to teach. But DJ Angelo has some great beat juggling vids.
@ericsutton9853

@@DJLiftOFF ok maybe your title has experience DJs looking for your style although you are teaching maybe if you put step one, we wouldn’t look for something that’s not there. But I get it everyone isn’t advanced, people do need the basic .keep teaching.
