Had some fun with my VCR and this classic setup! Here is a link to the video I used to make my 808 kick clone: • You can build this 808... If you would like to help support this channel you can donate here: paypal.me/Alex...

The Death Wish movies are classic! Herbie Hancok produced the soundtrack of the first movie and Jimmy Page produced the second movie, both are available on wax

I wouldn't be surprised if producers did this all the time in the 80s. That's cool.

This is dope as fuck. I can hear the Public Enemy sampling process of how they threw together so many different sound effects and samples to create beautiful madness. Subbed up

And that's why I kept that drum machine right there! The nostalgia of it makes it priceless.

I love watching this so I can do similar when I get the Roland S-550, I got the Roland PC-200 and I have a some VHS tapes of mine and a lot of VHS tapes to grab too! Thank you for making this groovie video! 🐼🎨📼

On the S-550 try sampling on the lower 15k setting for extra gritty. It has so good converters that 30k sounds almost like 16bit. I have one since 1988 and now two. There is a SCSI addon kit for it.

Man you got some cool gear! Out of everything what's your favourite sampler? I've got an MPC60, S950 and EPS 16 Plus currently, I have to say I love the EPS16+ the most not necessarily 'cause of sound but 'cause I can get so creative with it

As someone who has a massive vhs 📼 collection and who also makes beats I found this fascinating. I’ve heard about producers like MF DOOM sampling vhs but never seen it done. This was super dope Bro. Mad props.👏🔥💾🔥💾🔥💾🔥🔊🔥📼🔥

Thanks for the kind words! VHS tapes are some of my favorite things to sample. There are a bunch of drum lesson tapes out there to snag drums off etc. The hard part can be keeping the old VCRs from eating your tapes 😆
@smurxxx09109 ай бұрын
I also thought MF was sampling tape recordings off the television but seeing this process made it all make a lot more sense.

Sounds like something NWA would be on. I love sampling the little nothing's from movies. Folks are so hyped for the songs but not the score and interstitials.

Recuerdo cuando Public enemy denunció a Madonna por robarles el beat pero aquí estamos robándoles a ellos sin que pase nada...muestrear ya no enoja a nadie, James Brown quiso denunciar a cientos de raperos pero no tuvo éxito...

Sorry about that. I didn’t feel like wasting time showing me working the samples and should have just cut the whole section out haha. I wish I could hire a editor. It’s the one reason I don’t post more often. I can never streamline my work flow.
