I feel so called out, I work in a company that makes these games and our business strategy is literally to assume that every single player is gonna uninstall the game after 2-3 songs, or within 3 minutes.
@xajaga53083 жыл бұрын
Thats interesting, so is the idea to try to get as much ad revenue in as possible before people quit playing?
@saito8533 жыл бұрын
@@xajaga5308 Exactly, the strategy is to have a game simple enough to play in very short sessions (in order to show more ads) while making it looks appealing to bait for download. These games are produced within 1-2 months and a big portion of the budget is spent on marketing. This is the exact reason why a lot of the time you see crappy ads that has nothing to do with the real game, or straight up rip off assets from other games (btw my company is on the less scummy side, we shows the real game) This market is called "hypercasual games" and rhythm games are on the less scummy side since each stage has to be the length of the song. You can see a lot of bite-sized games with stages being like 10-20 seconds long.

I actually have an idea for making a rip-off beat saber game, just use gyroscope for detecting movements (left and right to dodge walls) and swiping for clearing "cubes" or whatever that called (probably more like "hold the saber and don't let go", basically swinging it, rather than "swiping", but anyway). Sadly haven't learned any game-making at all lol.

Kind of original one was Music Slayer which was really Beat Saber like where you had to 'slay' the blocks. But then they made it 'easier' by changing manual swings to taps which made it actually worse. It was also generated, no builtin songs,which meant any song worked but also most of them were outright bad. Not sure if it's for ios, but it's on android. Not sure if it's on steam, but their other games are (music racer has both Android and steam version, which even has VR support lol)
@zippycat2 жыл бұрын
in my opinion the perfect beat saber clone for mobile would be google cardboard + ar hands. what i mean by that is google cardboard is basically a headset viewer that lets you like view stuff (obv for like actual mobile phones and not ipads so the resolutions low) and ar hands is basically you print a qr code, put it on a cardboard and app scans it everytime using the camera, therefore creating hands in the game (with a handless single saber option for those who cant print the qr or have really delayed controls with qr hands). and that would've been (in my opinion) the perfect mobile beat saber clone
