I see a lot of comments on here talking about how this isn't expert mode or such. She is actually incorporating other movements to increase the exercise in the game (the hopping, the extra strong and decisive swings. A workout is only how hard you make it. You can play this level with virtually no energy by just doing wrist flicks, but what is the point of that. Some people on here are posting links to vids with expert ++ mapping. Lots of wrist flicks, standing mostly still and minimal time for full swings between the boxes. Extremely difficult and challenging, yeah. Total body cardio workout. Not as much as this vid. Good job on the vid. Beat Saber is a killer VR game

Why not do both? I do agree this is more of a full cardio workout, but it can be done on expert as well. When I think of beast mode I think of a hardcore set, expert and cardio.

I don't think anyone is saying that the extra movement is bad, it adds alot more body movement and fitness aspects to the game. The problem is the title lead us to believe that the lady was going to go "beast mode". The term was misused in this circumstance, nothing about the video was beastly. She played beat saber and added cardio, beast mode is something completely separate from that. Playing through the fire and flames on the hardest difficulty? That's beast mode, beast mode is something that fills the viewer with adrenaline just watching it. I could sleep to this, great sabering, great exercise, terrible title.

This is how to play Beat Saber. Hard is the perfect difficulty since Expert sacrifices the actual rhythm for complete chaos that's too complicated to have any fun with.

That's not entirely true. There are plenty of expert songs that allow you to incorporate lots of extra movement. I play expert (***i'm not good***) on no fail and do a lot of superfluous movement to get a full workout. You can likely play this game in a chair and score better than if you move a lot... but that's not nearly as fun or a good workout. streamable.com/j2ik1
