Eddy, thanks for the compliments! The audio was all done in one take, which included the majority of the footage you see (mainly that still-ish shot from the front). The video, since we didn't have 5 cameras, was done in a few takes, where I re-played along with my original take. As far as total number of audio takes, I think I tried it 3 times, but took the first (of course, right?). Thanks for your interest!

Hey Derek, got a question... I've been practicing a LOT and I'm starting to get a red spot, or like micro-cuts on my tongue where the slap tongue makes contact with the reed. Do you build up a callous at that spot after a few sore/healing/sore/healing cycles? Or is there something I'm doing incorrectly that would cause such chronic irritation? Seems to heal in about a day or two, as the mouth tends to heal very quickly in general. But that's time away from practicing this technique!! ;-D Love your sound by the way brother, really great rhythmic concepts... Super inspiring. I've known how to slap tongue for a few years, but you take it up many many notches!

Quite amazing. Was the reverb natural to the room, or added post-recording? How do you find really cool places like this to play? Any time I have tried to play outside of my shed, I have neighbors yelling and/or police threatening to arrest me for some sort of noise ordinance. There's always some joker trying to stick things in the bell of my sax. McDonald's cups in the bell are not conducive to good tone.
