The pointercrate demon list has been around for a long time, and the levels on it have gotten harder and harder. Today, I went back in time to see what the list was like 9 years ago, back in 2017

This is so nostalgic dude... I remember when I first started there were quite literally only 3 extreme demons that existed. They weren't called extreme demons, but in my head I understood them basically as the big 3. Above all else. Craziest thing is one of them isn't even rated extreme demon any more lol.

Bloodbath of course. There was a relatively long period of about 5 months where those 3 were the top 3 levels, and it felt like a long time for my dumb 14 year old brain, especially since I was making so much progress in the game at that time since I was just beginning to beat demons.

Sonic Wave actually got added in November 2016, and the time machine doesn't show show it for some reason. Artificial Ascent was actually verified after this then placed ABOVE Sonic Wave for some time. Just some cool trivia that I hate isn't fixed on Pointercrate

i know it was bound to happen but i genuinely miss when anyone could beat levels on the demonlist. now only top players can beat them and levels like yata, bloodbath, etc are seen as "easy" when the difficulty of them never changed, people just got better, but the majority didnt just get "better" to the point that they can beat levels like acheron. its only a very small section of the community so when someone beats a level like bloodbath, its not seen as a huge accomplishment like it was back then. bloodbath, sonic wave, yata, Erebus are still extremely difficult. in my opinion the communities standards are unbelievably high which makes it extremely hard for casual players to make things such as rate worthy levels. for example, getting a rated or featured level was much easier back then then it is now. im not nitpicking or complaining about anything because this was inevitable, but i do think as time goes on, less and less people are gonna be able to keep up with the new standards . kinda like how sunix or riot used to be the best, but they simply wouldnt be able to catch up to the skill level like zoink and eventually someone else new will come into the community and zoink wont be able to catch up with them

It's a common bug from 2.0 caused by a gravity changing ball into ship transition. It happens with the ufo and wave too. It got fixed in 2.1 but not sure why it happened here.

I wish I’d play during this time. The demonlist today is just full of levels that can only be beaten by the top 1% of gd players and are just full of stupidly hard timings where as 2017 anyone could really become the next top player if they worked hard enough. It’s not even that exciting seeing a new top 1 nowadays for me tbh. Other than slaughterhouse I haven’t really been genuinely excited for a new top 1 in a while.
