I always thought it was a neat touch in Castlevania Chronicles, when fighting the Mirror Belmont, it uses the dirty blonde hair color of the original X68000 version of the game, as opposed to red. It's such a minor detail, but really cool all the same. This whole run was awesome, looking forward to seeing how far you're able to bring this time down!

You may have a point, but hear me out: Of the three aforementioned Belmonts, Juste has the strongest magical versatility, and thusly, the most prominent Belnades factor. Richter only had access to 5 item crashes compared to the 30 Spell Fusions in Juste’s arsenal. Julius, as he is now, is further limited to having only Grand Cross and three Subweapons(Axe, Holy Water, Cross). Surely, Julius’s landslide victory over Dracula in 1999 makes him an easy pick for Strongest Belmont, but if Julius, a no-nonsense utilitarian when it comes to combat, was capable of using the tools that Juste had at his disposal to achieve damage stacks reliably, do you really think he would pass on an opportunity to establish a clear-cut advantage like that?

Ayo, I had to do a double take when I read you were beating ALL Classicvanias in under 10 hours...and as someone that struggled haed but eventually got thru Rondo and Dracula X (also played CV1 but got walled by Frankenstein's monster), it's crazy ti see you take on all of these back ro back without breaking a sweat

I think any remake of Castlevania Legends run into trouble when trying to situate it back into canon. I think they could reimagine it with different story structure though.

Ever since completing Blood Stained I've decided to try getting into the Castlevania series. The ones I like the most are Harmony of dissonance, Simon's Quest, and Castlevania Legacy of Darkness. I may be one of the few people on Earth that dislikes Symphony of the Night😅 However almost every single game I've played has a killer soundtrack🎉

6:11:23 I wouldn't say I HATE Dracula X, but when I first played it recently I found it to be both unimpressive and super mean. Obviously, you know what you're doing and how to avoid a bunch of the traps, but consider that right after you ask why people don't like it, there's that setup with an armor knight on a small platform across a jump, and you have to throw precision axes to kill it. I don't really know of any way how you can kill that with just the whip, and if you screw up the jump (perhaps because of the armor knight for which perhaps you didn't bring the axe), you have to go ALL the way around because there's no way back up. It's just super mean. There's a lot of screens like that in the game where if you don't bring the correct subweapon, you're just screwed. Earlier, there's the vertical one with all the birds - you almost fail that one because the birds are the WORST - and they give you a holy water early on, which is just cruel. You NEED the axe. And they know, because they give you 15 hearts at the end of the screen to fill back up. The design is just very inflexible, and I don't like that it often seems like they didn't take different playstyles into account.

I think this is a very fair take yeah. Dracula X is one of those games I find gets better as you replay it. Definitely punishing & sometimes it expects you to play in a particular way.

I remember getting Chronicles together with SotN back then and always felt that it's weird in a way 😂 My child self didn't realize that it was supposed to be a remake of CV1, I just always thought the whole game felt super familiar but also super different for some reason. But I really loved it and played it a lot. But SotN was just far superior in any way, really a shame that it came out at the same time like you said Jupiter.

damn, i ONLY came for CVA (Castlevania Adventure) and what am i seeing... the worst version imaginable, what a bummer :( well i guess at least it got some sort of attention after all when it didn't get skipped over altogether, that's something. but i really wonder if i live long enough to see people finally wake up about this game, like genuinely. CVA is so much better than anyone says, but the konami collection version for GBC is easily the worst way to play it (aside from the speed and color, which are both extremely off anyway). if you ever happen to play it again, please use any of the 3 original GB versions next time (you can just play them in color mode on GBC, that looks good enough). and if you need some tipps for the gameplay, you know where to go... (to my speedruns and guide videos of course^^) anyway, nice marathon that needs a lot of skills. very impressive. PS: did you actually do the low% glitch strat for dracula 1 on purpose or was that random chance?? i never expected to see that from anyone ever. good stuff.

I disagree, the gbc version is way better than the base gb, imo, but I can see it being off putting if you are used to the speed.

@@Multienderguy37 personally i absolutely hate that the GBC version has no visual hit detection, it feels so wrong to me. in the original when you damage enemies like bosses they blink to indicate that you hurt them but the GBC version simply doesn't have this at all. i also cannot stand the butchering of the great soundtracks by the random speed ups and downs in the overclock version. and for speedrunning the GBC version is also the least interesting because most strategies revolve around lag management but the color version loads everything in different ways that make it barely possible to make much difference by how you perform during gameplay (basically GBC needs way less skill compared to the original and therefor GBC is obviously far less impressive to watch).
