I found that villages, trees and everything spawns above the bedrock ceiling, but there are ponds on the top that allow connection through the bedrock back down into the caves. If you can get two ender pearls you can glitch through the bedrock and get to surface, and use the ponds to get back down. The problem is getting the pearls and up to ceiling.

if you have like a ladder and an enderpearl, you can go on top of the world. there will spawn villages, trees and smal lakes. if you find a lake or villages you can remove dirt on top and you have an easy entrance

Some weeks ago I tried the same, and got seeds from grass. You had melon seeds, which to use for food, and lots of fences, which to use for fuel. "Melons! No, it's not gonna do us anything for us, though." "You can't eat seeds, right?" Maybe if you planted those wheat seeds and melon seeds, you would get food without having to eat rotten flesh. You also got a carrot, later, which you could also plant for food. Especially if you make golden carrots, which feed you much more. As of right now, I think a cave-only world should start with the player having one sapling, one torch and one sugarcane. Though you could replace the tree with bamboo, and have to use creepers to get cobblestone.

Alright I have a few things to say. 1: lava buckets smelt 20 items. 2: you should have made an infinite lava source for infinite smelting material. 3: you left some iron everywhere and it triggered me. 4: zombies have the chance to drop potatoes. 5: baby zombies can spawn on chickens. Possible tip for anyone trying this: villages do exist(assuming your world is a biome that the spawn in naturally) they’re just above the ceiling bedrock. Small pools of water will generate through bedrock, possible giving you a route up there.

Somebody knows the strat! Messed around in creative and found the pools. Such weird generation, but they give you access to sunlight, villages and ruined portals, and it's just a really interesting way to do so, so I like it. That being said, I wonder if you could do the Nether roof portal technique with this world type.

@@actor765 Yeah, that seems like the more viable technique if you were wanting to do that early game. I think there must be lava pools, and from there all you need is iron. I think the only way to do so is to find a ruined portal with a pick in it, so they're really what makes cave world runs possible. Unless those waterfalls I see everywhere take you to one of those pools it seems like they would be more of a lategame thing, because nether portals would be easier.

There's thousands of comments already about this, but im still gonna say this. He could've used the fences in the mineshaft to smelt the iron. And the seeds he got could be used to get wheat to make into bread, he does have some bones so use that into bonemeal and then keep doing it until hunger is not a problem. Another way of getting food is to use the abundance of string he had to make a fishing rod and then fish for food, he might've also got some good stuff too if he was lucky.

just as a quick side note, when you were making this video i noticed you said "Hunger is gonna be such a huge problem" but if you make a bucket, gather the water at where you wanna call your base, and then just make a 1 block deep pool of any size pool you want and you can fish in it, and I say this cus I noticed you got alot of string but im aware sticks were not easy to come by, but that being said it is a viable option for food in desperate situations

Sorry, im only 9:30 into the video, but it really feels like there are some points you gloss over. 1: food is/was still possible, as long as you break the grass on the surface. Plus, if you find a minecart chest, you can get beetroots, melons, pumpkins, potatoes and carrots [i believe] 2: friendly mobs can, and will still spawn, but only if their spawning location has light sources. 3: wood/trees are technically accessible, but they require a wandering trader. So for now, wood is limited, but it is possible to achieve trees. 4: arrows would also be accessible if you had chickens, which should spawn if the surface has been lit.

Another way to maybe get foo is Killing skeletons, making bonemeal, getting seeds, make wheat, and then bread, It works in caves cuz I usually build my homes there and make an underground farm
