Seeing rivers of lava under water makes no sense. It would instantly boil any water that came in contact with it so it would just be a cloud of steam and debris from the rapidly cooling lava.

that's actually what happens! if you manage to turn off the gun before the sunbeam gets there (either by disabling the gun before they arrive or by only hearing the radio transmission after disabling the gun) they say they can't get into the planet because of a debris field

On a serious note, that achievement requires you to dive. In order to dive you have to stand on top of the life pod and JUMP into the water. I feel like the lag during the "base building" part was probably because it was forcing the game to do a bunch of hull integrity calculations over a wide range of depths. It only seemed to happen with base pieces that would change the hull integrity of a normal base and would also explain why it stopped happening once you went to build a new "base".

This run may be able to be improved a significant amount in terms of time. For all the time you are on land, if you move diagonally (due to some math and the way the movement script works) you will go faster by a significant amount. then from there you can do the same sprint jumping shenanigans you already were and it may optimize the run by a good 5-7 minutes I think.

I know how to get even less water time, build a base part, hatch and a scanner room. Do the glitch where u place a window on a corner somewhere else. (do all of this from on top of the lifepod) now the scanner room will disappear but still leave a hold on the side of the base. Go in through the hatch and out the hole. This will now remove the water. Edit: if you instead of going through the hatch go through the hole, you can swim FULL SPEED in a non flooded/flooded base.

I think I know an improvement: build The mobile vehicle bay after you get the ion crystals on Gun Island, make a PRAWN suit, arrange for it to land on a just-barely subsurface foundation, and skip the water time at the emporers. Then the only water time is the single mobile vehicle bay deployment: no need for hatch shenanigans at the bottom of the ocean

This is great and all, why the hell did the ghost not spawn in the corridor he used to enter? I use that entrance all the time and the ghost is always as you come in.

I'm just guessing here, but it could be possible that the ghost leviathan simply isn't loading in while he's in the area. I've had it happen with every Leviathan class creature in the game. It's horrifying just watching them spawn in 3 meters from your face when the game isn't loading right. I'm betting it's an HDD based issue mostly. I play on ps4

@@electricnick260 i play on Xbox, I always take a second to see if it spawns in. The ghost is basically harmless though. I got through an attack on the way out and I only got a 5th of my health taken

@@feelio_ you just might be the luckiest bug victim ever if you seriously believe the ghost Leviathans are "basically harmless" 🤣. They *should* be the most hazardous to everything but the cyclops as far as raw damage capability goes. The only time a creature is more dangerous when the game isn't bugging out is when the sea dragon attacks the cyclops. Otherwise the Ghost Leviathan takes the cake for most damage possible per hit.

@@feelio_ frightening thing about ghosts when you're in the cyclops is that if you stop driving and the ghost leviathan hits you, there's a good chance the cyclops will roll and kill you. It can happen with the others but less commonly. Ghosts like flipping me over when I go into the Lost River. It's for that reason that I don't even bother taking my cyclops into the Lost River anymore. I just take my prawn suit because it's easier to sneak past the Leviathans and the most dangerous creatures I get stuck dealing with are the Warpers. P.S. I HATE WARPERS :|
