Beating The Odds: The Story of Hurricane Tim (1997, no ads)

This TV3 Inside New Zealand documentary covers the life, business and warbird activities of Sir Tim Wallis, an entrepreneur who used his pioneering live deer capture and farming business to finance a world-renowned collection of World War Two aircraft. The documentary extensively covers Sir Tim from 1992 to 1997, with emphasis on the Warbirds Over Wanaka airshow, the programme to restore the rare Russian Polikarpov I-16 fighter, and the January 1996 Spitfire crash that almost killed him.
Please note that from 11:47 to 12:06 there is footage of a fatal aircraft accident and some may wish to skip past this.
This is the complete programme as broadcast on New Zealand television, with the commercials removed. It has been transferred from a VHS tape recorded in 1997 so please excuse any audio or video quality issues.

Wallis has been so good for New Zealand. It is now 61 years since I flew over the land that became the Warbirds home. I reckon the missing Dragonfly is not that far away! But that is a guess. Probably near Dragonfly Peak.
