Just got one of these. Wish the handle was just a tad thicker but it’s awesome. The Secure-X sheath will scratch and dull the blade. Get a leather one. My Recon came RAZOR sharp from factory. It’s one of those knives that looks so good in the CPM3V steel that you almost hate to use it and mar up the blade. The older versions also came in a black blade finish.

@@rickgrimes2043 Its an old one in Carbon V, what should be kind of a 1095 variation. It takes a razor sharp edge and holds it very well. Actually it still has the factory grind and only was stropped after using the knife.

I love the overall knife in size. It's a shame Cold Steel ground that top swedge like that. It would have been a better and stouter tip if left unground. Especially for outdoors type work in the woods like batoning and prying on wood and such. I can see a sharpened/ground top swedge for fighting. Although these days most folks don't fight with knives anymore. So you may want to mention it to Cold Steel not to grind the swedge and just leave it thicker and squared off for a tougher outdoors type of knife. It would be one less step in the building process as well. Thanks 👍
