The Beatles are preparing to release their "final" song, Now and Then, with the assistance of AI technology, five decades after the band disbanded. This song is derived from a 1970s demo recording that Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have been refining over the past forty years. With the aid of artificial intelligence, they've successfully isolated John Lennon's vocals from the old demo to complete the track. Now and Then was one of the compositions recorded by Lennon shortly before his passing in 1980. While two other tracks, "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love," were restored by producer Jeff Lynne and released in 1995 and 1996, Lynne encountered difficulties when attempting to restore "Now and Then," with his efforts criticized by George Harrison. Nonetheless, AI technology has provided McCartney with a novel avenue to resurrect the song. Through the use of AI, director Peter Jackson managed to resolve the issues by separating Lennon's original vocals from the piano used in the late 1970s. Paul McCartney expressed his emotion, stating, "There it was, John's voice, crystal clear. It's quite emotional. And we all play on it, it's a genuine Beatles recording. In 2023, to still be working on Beatles music and preparing to unveil a previously unheard song to the public, I think it's quite an exciting development."
