Joseph: I had to laugh at your remark, because whenever I listen carefully and "out of context" to pretty-well ANY Beatles' song I think to myself "This is surely one of the most under-rated of their songs." They were hit machines, and George Harrison had as much writing talent as the other two. The Beatles took over the world in a way never previously equaled, and certainly never to be matched again. It was their combination of charm, elegance, prodigious talent, British cachet, and the era - to say nothing of the guiding hand of one George Martin. The era permitted them to emerge from relative obscurity in a way that is impossible today.

When I was a teenager, I liked them but wasn't a major fan at that time. Interestingly, my mother was a Beatles fan! As I reached my twenties, I realized how amazing their music was and continues to be. I often wonder, if John Lennon had not been murdered whether he would have continued writing and maybe collaborating with Paul, who, by the way, will be 80 next month!

@MICKEYISLOWD4 жыл бұрын
''If I fell'' starts with descending chromatic chord that don't make sense if you just play the chords however.. Lennon sings that first line and it all ties together without a single bump which is the work of genius because the underlying chords are so far apart on the circle of 5ths. Just the first intro vocal is stunning and so damn clever. The Beatles music is riddled with unexpected chord changes and utterly sublime melody. This is why their music is studied in almost every music institution in the world. They were just that good:)

Have to say it was a high that I never experienced again in my lifetime except - when I saw them in concert and was running across the stadium field trying to get to them. 😂 I got to the stage and was caught by a security guard who brought me back to my seat - repeatedly. Move up to around 1978 and I’m sitting in a health food restaurant on a random trip to New York, asking my friends to let’s leave and go to a real restaurant and who walks In and sits about 2 tables away - John Lennon and Yoko. I felt an almost internal collapse, sat down and said “Oh never mind let’s just stay here”. I sat there and for about an hour - didn’t stare - but kept catching glances and had memories of 1964 and how much I loved them during my magical childhood. I’ve often said that had I known - at 12 yrs old - that years later I would be sitting 2 tables away from John Lennon, I would have sat in my room, refused to go to school, waiting for that trip to New York. 😂

THE BEATLES!!!!!! BEST band on the planet🌎. Four lads that shook the world!!!! They will never eveeer be surpassed no matter how hard other bands try. The Beatles started it ALL. Long hair, fashion, unique and beautiful music and more. They never stuck to one type of music like other bands did....they wrote ballads, rock, psychedelic rock. You name it. "Helter Skelter" was the first heavy metal song in history!! 27 minutes long. The Beatles were not afraid of using unique sounds in most of their songs. I saw The Beatles in person TWICE when I was a kid in Chicago. One concert was at the Chicago Amphitheater and one at Comiskey Park. I had the BEST time of my life. Wouldn` t have missed it for the world and I`ll never forget it. Long live The Beatles!!!! Peace and Love✌💗

Look how confident John was as the lead vocalist without having an ego within the group, he never let that get in the way, he loved the other Beatles equally and respected them, even the rivalry he had with Paul. This obviously strengthened the group's professionalism. They knew where they wanted to go...To the poppa most to the toppa most Johnny.

The Beatles came around at a time that was way too short. When I hear someone ask where the time went, I like to think it went with the Beatles. This entire film tells so much about the beauty in music, and theirs was so unique, touching us the way we should be touched. Even the black and white is the simple truth of the Beatles' time and ours. There is nothing as timeless as The Beatles. They were a rare gem. Let my gravestone say I lived in the time of the Beatles.

These guys knew every 'hook' and trick in the book, to put into their songs. The first couple of albums, the music was basically live. But they were always doing magical things with their voices, switching harmonies, doubling in sections, using vocal 'oddities' made famous by earlier artists. Especially seeing these early videos, they are still caught up in the magic, happiness, energy, an almost naive approach. They were anything but naive, but they gave that feeling like these were friends of yours, who lived down the street. I am so grateful I lived during this period, I saw them perform live, and have memorized practically every song they recorded. 50 something years later, they still make me sing along, and bop my head to the beat.
