B co ghost notes should be a feature. Also step record would be useful along with transpose for midi notes so we can have some short cuts to instantly shift our patterns to what ever key we need.

Yo! BrandonRico Simpson ghost notes are for an example say you want to stay in a certain scale or key we’d be able to go to piano roll & keep that said scale or key highlighted/fixated in the piano roll background just as a highlighter not as sound. while being able to apply our desired midi notes as a overlay that will have sound. kinda like a guide for those of us who don’t know music theory, scales it helps with building melody pretty much.

I’ve still have yet to get BM3. But I’ve been going mad nuts in garage band on my iPhone an I really want BM3. I’m seriously getting an iPad this year. Love all the insight you dropping and as soon as I get on board you’ll be firsts to know an also I would like to send you some of my beats for feedback. I had asked for a loop+release sample play mode. When a pad is pressed, it would play the sample, loop the loop section and when the pad is released, the loop would finish playing and go to the remaining part of the sample.

Dope vid bro,as usual...since the update, bm3 uses more cpu on my ipad pro 1rst gen...some older beats i cant play without crackling anymore...and got 2 hangups...besides that,all good... i still need 1. better routing system (bus grouping etc) for proper mixing. 2. being able to move regions or audio from one bank to an other directly in the arrangement window. Also to change the order of banks and duplicate banks. 3. more midi editing tools like humanize,notch,quantize by % etc... 4. oh and really important...ability to move playhead in the editing window... You r doing a great job brandon!its not easy with a big fam n a 9-5! Keep it up...!

I am with you on the challenge, and I want to start vloging my beats as well as to further that challenge for myself. As far as features I would really like to have more of a visual on file management. What I mean by this is within a saved session folder I would like to see a catalog of folders where all the files of that session are being saved. For example having the option to access past auto saved files. I also would like to see a audio folder where let’s say I chop a sample. if those chops could be saved as individual wave files that automatically get saved into its own dedicated folder inside the sessions folder that would be rad. This would allow our engineers to access these files and import the .wav files into their daw. I could send the chops and sounds to be remixed by another producer instead of sending full length stems. I could also build kits automatically inside BeatMaker without having to take the time away from producing. It just gives a lot of flexibility and convenient to a lot of different scenarios. It would be rad to be able to save in different file formats like Ableton, pro tools, and so on. Last I would like to see more gestures within BeatMaker. If I could swipe between using patterns and scenes, if I could press and hold the duplicate button on song mode and drag the clip I hi lighted into its place. on pad mode if I tap the screen with 3 fingers twice it records and so on. Last but not least can we PLEASE have the option to arrange our tracks in mix mode and oh ya last one I promise lol. Can we have a nudge mode in the sampler section as well as being able to hear the start and end points when we hit the pad without having to lift our finger off the screen. Thank you a ton to the beta team, I know I went off on a drunken rant on the forums but I was just upset that there was actual complaints about not having an update to their expectations. The intua team and beta testers are doing a great job and need more credit more often.

I’m glad you can turn the background back on I usually listen and download sounds etc to import I prefer it on Also the crashing is bad I’ve had my d1 synth crash & my pure synth platinum It also started changing them to the default sounds when they crashed and I’d have to go and find the sounds again I just started naming the track the sound name for back up

Hey Brandon, thx for the nice vid. I‘m using mostly the Groovebox and the LaunchPad apps from Ampify to create ideas in loops. I intend to export those loops from those apps mentioned above into BeatMaker 3. I would love to see what is the most effective and quick way to export directly my loops through the Ableton link, stretch them and arrange them as a composition. It would be great to watch a vid from you. Have a nice day!

It’d be real nice to be able to put fades on the actual audio clips. I know it’s not optimised for mixing or live recording but it’d be nice to be able to fade audio clips to semi clean them up within bm3.

A workaround could be either volume automaton or to edit your clips with the ADSR then re-record them to a new clip.

SUGGESTIONS FOR BM3 Scrub timeline with midi and audio playback. Scrub timeline in midi editor Stop “Finger” tool from dropping notes on single touch (bring back BM2 editing tool) Allow nondestructive drag edit of segment START points on the timeline Allow dragging segments to different tracks

Hey Brandon what about the midi to be able to play in different tracks . I'm just having a issue where I'm getting multiple sounds on tracks. For example track 1 or bank 1 I'll have keys. And bank 2 my midi would play bells plus keys . I would change channels but still everytime new bank new instrument . It would mix my sounds ? Dope video bro thanks.

No, but when you have a pad selected on BM3 there is a velocity bar on the left side that you can tap higher on the bar for higher velocity, or lower for lower velocity. Pro is that you have much more control of the velocity, con is that you would only record one pad at a time with that workflow. I tend to find it better than pressure sensitive pads. Other DAWs have different ways for achieving this also.

@@rahdays I've seen that, yes. I believe that iPad Pros are only pressure sensitive when using an Apple pen anyway... so we'll probably have to wait a bit until we have tactile pressure capabilities.

Update was dope! Way more stable. One question tho. Do you know of any particular reason we don't have a midi function for the undo and redo buttons? That's a tiny update that would make a world of a difference for me

The undo and redo buttons aren't controlled by midi communication. Those work more like traditional DAW hotkeys (cmd+Z). You could map a programmable button on your midi controller to behave like a hotkey from the focus actions menu. Like for instance the Sensel Morph is programmable with hotkeys, transport controls, CC, And MIDI.

Ah my mistake I could have sworn it was there as a focus action. However, it is still hotkey compatible. So I have it programed into one button on my Sensel Morph. If you have something similar or even a BT keyboard you're good to go.

To be fair, you can mix on BM3 but that's pushing the limits of what the app was designed to do. People often forget that its a sampler first, DAW second. Auria Pro or Cubasis are THE daws for mixing if you want studio-grade results. BM3 with AU effects can deliver a good mix, but at the cost of some limitations and workarounds.

By the way are you having issues recoding with IAAs such as Korg Module? I can record and build fine in project mode but when it comes to exporting it bounces everything except for the signal recorded with the IAA. Curious to know if you encountered the same.

I have encountered a few issues but nothing too serious. One of the worst issues is Audiokits D1 crashing Everytime. I use that alot so it frustrating. But I adjust 🤷🏾‍♂️

anyone else having the ipad master volume not working after ipad os update ? The only way i can control the overall volume seems to be BM master fader... lower the volume via the ipad as you do usually doesn‘t work, it just blasts at full volume . Is there anything I overlooked ?

That‘s actually only using the ipad internal speakers. With headphones plugged in it works as expected. I‘m on an ipad pro using ipad os. That used to work before the upgrade. It‘s not that big of a deal, but it‘s kinda disturbing when opening up BM3 and it blasts at full volume every time :)

Beatmaker3 has been a huge disappointment for the last 3 months. I finished a song, saved it loaded it back up. No problem. Came back the next day. It wont load. Then I get a error. I did a bunch of other steps. The long and short of it I lost the song. Intua this sucks on so many levels. I have been using Nanostudio2 with no problems at all. I don’t see how you make an updated version and its weaker. Beatmaker2 was the shit, and still is. Beatmaker3 gets the Gas Face for 2019.
