Queen Beatrix spoke several languages. Her family was multilingual. Most Dutch do speak other languages including Frisian. There are other dialects spoken in the Netherlands.

Princess Beatrix spoke English very well when she was young. I wonder if she could speak German. The Dutch Royal Family have German blood in their bodies because their family members had got married with German princes.

Queen Beatrix, Queen's Juliana's daughter, had her German ancestry from her father. King Willem-Alexander, Queen's Beatrix son, has a German father: Prince Claus.
