To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. kzbin.infoUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

This is definitely an upgrade to its successor with the ear loops. My biggest complaint is the big case on the PowerBeats Pro Wireless so this is a nice upgrade.

Note that they don't have auto pause/start when they are removed/re-inserted in the ears. No wireless charging with the case. Saw a few reviews about the call quality was subpar but a few that said they sounded great (hopefully, a software update could fix the call quality).

I used my AirPods Pro for working out then I got the beats pro….I don’t like the big case of the beats pro and the ear wrap around so these look like they will take my money…the great thing about the AirPod pro is the ease of putting them in my ear quickly and removal….these look like it will be easier to carry around and put on and take off. thanks for your review.

Have had some Powerbeats 2, 3, AirPods, Powerbeats Pro, AP Pro, Beats Flex. Didn’t expect these to come out and now they’ll be my next pair! Hoping the universality will carry over for easy pairing with windows for my desktop and laptop. The W1 and H1 chip just did not play well with windows. So excited to receive the new pair.

I just got the Galaxy Buds Live (red) and they're actually pretty good, and they, surprisingly, stay in my ear. How would you compare the two? Should I ice my "Beanies" as they're called? They don’t have the gyroscope so they can’t do headtracking spatial audio and the lack of W1 chip means you can’t switch them between iOS/OS X devices with one touch.

If you’re looking for buds without hooks, AirPods Pro are better option that these. Better calls, better noise cancelling and transparency, wireless charging, and removal detection.

(yes style matters btw). for an apple/beats product, these are a fantastic value. that doesn't mean they're the best option for everyone, but they are a solid choice and most people probably won't be disappointed after buying them unless they're a hardcore audiophile. and if that were the case they wouldn't be buying $150 earbuds.

However, AirPods Pro can be found right now for $200 which is going to be a way better purchase for most people with iPhone. If you have Android, the Galaxy Buds Pro can sometimes be found for $150 which will be a way better purchase. Even at $200, for Android users, I would totally recommend those over Beats Studio Buds. For most people, I cannot recommend the Beats “Studio” Buds.

I’ve actually never had AirPods or any wireless earbuds and I have very small ears. I’ve always assumed that AirPods either wouldn’t fit or would hurt my ears, but these look comfy. Does the part that sticks out of your ear, press on the curved part of your ear? Or do they totally float?

The Beats Studio Buds are great, but so are AirPods. There is a lot more noise cancellation features with the beats, they are smaller, and they are newer so they'll last longer from now. But overall if you aren't necessarily looking for more features then stick with the AirPods, but if you do want something that's newer and offers more then maybe the Beats would be right for you. Unfortunately for you/your situation, AirPods 3 are (according to the leaked images and other sources) going to also have an in-ear design. They won’t have silicone tips though, if that’s what bothers you. As I understand it, the feel while wearing AP3 will probably be comparable to wearing the AirPods Pro’s if you took the tips off first.

Keep in mind if the first device you pair to is an Android device, it does pop up on screen as it does with iPhones. When I first set up mine I had my OnePlus 8 and iPad Pro side by side and it recognized my Android device first, though the iPad did show a second or two later. As far as I can see other than Android requiring an extra Beats app for certain features it’s a very similar experience on both devices. There’s a few things I did not love about the Beats at first, but they’ve grown on me. Aside from the static that randomly happens which requires redocking in the case to reset(happens when used for long periods of time, but does not happen every time), they’ve been flawless.
