At first I replaced battery from your other vid. No good. So I purchased a new charge port. I've never soldered in my life. Purchased a small kit. Replaced charge port....IT WORKED! I feel like a super-hero. I did it. My wife was encouraging me to throw them out! I have Beats Wireless Limited Edition. I thought no way was I going to let this thing beat me. With your help. I conquered the day. LOL. Small successes like this are great. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this great video. I have done minor solder repairs in the past but this was without a doubt the most micro of them to date. Wasn't sure I could do the small points with my shotty eyes but followed your actions and was successful. Your video is perfect, very well done. Walked me through the steps while giving me the confidence to give it a try. I had another pair of beats that were destroyed so had a doner port already. Can't tell you how much I appreciate you sharing this info and taking the time to put together such an easy to follow video. You saved the day. My wife things I am a super star for fixing her beats. You make it look very easy. Do you have, or suggest a series of solder videos? I think I could benefit from some formal instruction and would love to learn from you.

Do you need solder or does it come on the board
@FixItPlanet14 жыл бұрын
There may be some if you bought the entire PCB. However, You should probably just get a little solder and flux. You may not need it but if you do then you will have it. It's up to you.

What is the material called to de-solder the cables?
@FixItPlanet14 жыл бұрын
I think you may be referring to Flux but any soldering iron can de-solder the cable even without flux. It's not critical in this case but it is useful especially when re attaching the cable.

@FixItPlanet16 жыл бұрын
Soldering stations and irons vary so you have to figure out what works best for what you are using. It could be 400 celsius or 750 to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. 0 degrees Celsius is equal to 32 degrees Fahrenheit: 0 °C = 32 °F

I’ve looked and it all looks connected right, can you tell me what might be wrong?
@FixItPlanet14 жыл бұрын
You don't say what the problem is but assuming your problem is they aren't charging the battery. The pins are probably pulled away from the PCB. That is the most common issue with this model, however; it is possible to have a different problem on either of the main logic boards or even a bad battery.

Can this be done on the Powerbeats 2?
@FixItPlanet17 жыл бұрын
I haven't done it, but it looks like it could be done depending on extent of damage to pads and traces. The area around port is highly populated and PCB would have to be removed from any plastic.
@Joesge7 жыл бұрын
It's difficult since the board is so small and it can be easily damaged if you replace the part.

So I Changed my right hinge on my beats but in tht process I had to take the whole thing apart now it’s not turning on u think the charging port is the problem?
@FixItPlanet15 жыл бұрын
The charge port should not be effected just because you took them apart unless it was already messed up. Something could have been knocked off the logic board, unplugged, or a cable could have been damaged. I have no way of knowing. Try resetting them and see what happens.
