It’s missing a few key songs for me but it’s what I use religiously. The other week I did a tent wedding with so so Wi-Fi. I hooked up to my iPhones Bluetooth and songs loaded no problem.

I know a lot of people don't see the value in lossless files, but I think I can make a pretty convincing case. For standard resolution lossless, CD quality, or 16/44, is the benchmark. This technology was first introduced in 1978, and was the sound quality standard for Laser Disk. A few years later, in 1982, 16/44 became the standard for CD as well. We're talking about a digital technology that's almost 50 years old. In comparison, I believe the Atari 2600 was also released in 1978. Are we still using those? In my opinion, we shouldn't be trying to upgrade from MP-3 back to 1978 tech. We should have never went there in the first place. If you're a digital DJ, you need to pay attention to what I'm about to go over. 99% of DJ's don't know about this, and its relevant. To transcode from a CD or CD quality file (16/44) file to MP-3, the process is lossy. That means musical information is removed from the file and discarded, in order to make it smaller. A 16/44 file is approximately 1000 kbps. It can vary a bit depended on how its encoded, but its always close to 1000. The highest quality MP-3 that the format allows for, is 320 kbps. So, in order to make the best quality MP-3 possible, 2/3 of the musical information from the original file is removed and thrown away. Most of the time, MP-3 services use 256kbps, and not 320. At 256kbps, you discard 75% of the original file. Most DJ's are aware of at least some of what I just said, but it gets worse, and this is the part they don't know about. When you work with music files in the digital domain, you can't adjust things like volume and gain by varying signal strength like you do in analog. Its done with bit rate. The only way you can get the full resolution (assuming 256kbps) of a file, it to play it back, is to have all your digital volume controls set to their maximum. With DJing, this is impossible. If all of your songs have to be set at full volume, you can't mix. That means, in order to DJ with your 256kbps MP-3 file, its only 256 at full volume. As you lower the volume, your resolution of 256kbps keeps dropping as well. This is called bit stripping. And when DJing in the digital domain, and making volume adjustments, you can be loosing over 80% of the musical information contained in the original file. When DJing with MP-3's, you're throwing away almost the entire file just to make it smaller. I know in the video, it was said it was scientifically proven that we can hear little to know difference. That's not the case. Just taking measurements isn't science. We can't measure everything we hear. And the things we can't measure are extremely important. On paper, it may look like there is little to no difference, but that's not the case. In order to be considered science, the testing must include listening to account for what we can't hear. The way the measurements were presented in the video may look compelling, but they don't tell the whole story.

The price update would have been a good heads up. Was £10 then suddenly jumped out of the blue.

I made the switch on the website on my Mac but they’re still loading at 256 kpbs. Do I need to reanalyze my files or doing anything on serato itself?
