I love the album this comes from. Prog/post metal is my favorite thing on the planet. Metal doesn't always have to be about demons and blood and darkness. Some of the best, most emotive and positive music is metal music

I found this song today. And when it builds up at 2mins and then just smashes your soul like a wave at 2:43 when it hits. Absolute chills.

WOW!!! A reaction channel ACTUALLY took my suggestion! At the beginning of this video I thought, “Oh crap, I hope he likes it.” And then thought, “Is this even his style or taste of music!?” But I can see you enjoyed it. It has a similar styling to some older Baroness songs (Red Album), so I thought you could find at least SOME aspects of the song that you might like. I know the vocals are a bit harsh at times, and THOSE blast beats (very non-Baroness), but you can't deny this song has some great moments. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it! Here's some BARONESS suggestions, (if you want them): TOURNIQUET - (From newest album, w/ new guitarist, Gina) SHOCK ME - (Most radio friendly? But still so good) MARCH TO THE SEA - (Arguably their most popular song?) A HORSE CALLED GOLGATHA - (Classic/old Baroness, same vein as this Pijn&Conjurer song) ISAK - (Classic/old Baroness)

Really good suggestion, so thank you! Don't ever worry about me NOT liking something, I try very hard to go into listening to everything with an open mind. I absolutely do NOT want to be blinkered and sidelined into familiarity and safety of what I know I like. I need to be challenged by music, to understand that it's a form of expression by the artist and their need to make it validates it as art. It's not always comfortable listening, but it's always interesting, and most of the time rewarding and enjoyable. Thanks for the contribution :)

Wow, this was an amazing suggestion. And as a huge Baroness fan, this was easily my favorite thing I've seen on this channel that I wasn't already familiar with. I need more of this uplifting, triumphant, yet decidedly uncheesy metal in my life.

I'd liked this song for awhile, but recently a coworker passed away and I was walking to the subway home on the day I found out that she passed. The lyrics really hit home in a way they didn't previously - found your video and I appreciated seeing your reaction to it. Really a beautiful piece of music.

One year later so I doubt you'll see this but I just have to say that people who don't "get" this song are probably in a very good place in their lives. When I first heard this song I was in a very dark state and absolutely bawled. The major key if anything adds to the deep melancholy. I love this song so much, but it hits like a truck and I have to be ready to take it all in.

It is amazing. I was lucky enough to chat with Dan Nightingale, guitarist from Conjurer towards the end of last year. He has some great stories to tell - check out the vid if you fancy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5zGnGuMhdl2n8U

Whoever suggested conjurer, your amazing and i love you. I saw them live in late 2018 they are phenomenal. Please react to thankless from thier album the mire it's beautifully dark and heavy somehow Edit: actually any song from that record will do. It's a very good one to listen too in order cuz it's a concept album
@codbo1223landuca4 жыл бұрын
It's not really a concept album, the lyrics nor the music tell a storyline, they just share the overall feeling of sadness, Curse These Metal Hands and the I EP however are more akin to a concept album imo
@norixiusttg61764 жыл бұрын
@@codbo1223landuca mayhaps. The band considers it a concept album and for me this album feels similar to leviathan by mastodon which is also very much a concept album. Either way it is a very enjoyable peace of art and they are one of my favorite new bands

@@norixiusttg6176 i don't think ive seem them refer to Mire as a concept album before, do you remember anywhere specific you might have seen that info? And absolutely, they are fucking incredible

@@codbo1223landuca I saw them live at the Phoenix theater in Petaluma California. They were the opening (and in my opinion) best band of the show. They openly stated that it is a concept album on stage. The main band was voivod and uuuu yeah they haven't aged well

Jim, if you look into this suggestion, do Blessed Be first. Holy Roller is brutal, and really awesome, but it's a bit lacking in subtlety. Might give the wrong first impression.

I have an unknown exceptional one for ya-the band is “sweep the leg Johny,” the song is “sometimes my balls feel like tits.” Don’t let the title fool you. Mathematics, melody, and composition like you’ve never heard, and they were pre-Mars Volta. I doubt anyone else has a mind open as yours to react to this one. Standard four piece, tho the lead singer also plays alto sax. Recorded in late 2001, (it would mean the world to me-one of the best bands I’ve ever seen and no one’s aware of these giants): kzbin.info/www/bejne/eomnc3ehqbiFl5Y

Not bad but too... "joyful", I suppose, for my taste. I'm more of a minor scales kind of guy.

If anything the major key adds to the sadness (might just be me lol). I've never deeply cried to music like I have with this song.

I like more.. technical? stuff. i think this could have used a touch of more mastodon/gojira if you know where i'm coming from. Not a bad song, not a fan of the lead singer's voice , almost sounds like one of those "breaking benjamin" bands i'm not a fan of. Just my 2 cents i like the band don't love them.
@JimNewstead4 жыл бұрын
Yup, you can’t love everything. I found this quite immersive, and really really enjoyed it. Sometimes stuff which is very technical lacks heart, not Mastodon or Gojira, but where it’s technical for the sake of showing off, well, that’s a big turn off for me!
@norixiusttg61764 жыл бұрын
@@JimNewstead very heavily agree. I like dream theater, sometimes, but most of the time I'm just not in the mood to listen to stuff that's all about the technical elements
