Thanks for being so openminded, Jim. Your willingness to explore extreme metal is great and frankly what some are "scared" to do

26:20 Part of the brutality of DM and BM. Its something to get used to. You'll probably love Ulcerate; insanely dynamic metal drumming.

I remember listening to the previous record with you Jim soon as i saw the cover. Enjoyed that one. Going on my wishlist. They are going on a cool musical journey touching quite a few aspects of heavy music i really like.....

Bit late to this Jim but absolutely love when you go into the more extreme areas of Prog. As much as I love Prog rock, Prog Metal just has a lot more going on for me and is what really speaks to me. I understand why people have issues with vocal styles or dissonant harmonies and melodies but man there's so much out there to experience. This is on my shortlist for AOTY. Easily. This is an aside, but every day I see a video from you I hope you pick up The Ocean Collective's Phanerozoic II record. You enjoyed the first one, and I know you have the vinyl for II and bought them together, so I'm hoping one day you go and revisit a band that means so much to me.

It's an incredible album, much prefer the Stargate personally out of the two tracks, the opening 8 minutes is some of the best and most mesmerising music I've heard in ages! Thanks Jim!

Awesome reaction! Blood Incantation is a very special and open-minded band. I would love to see your reaction to Ulthar - Anthronomicon. Ulthar as a band has a lot of similarities to Blood Incantation but with more black metal elements sprinkled in.

Hey Jim great reaction! They are the next big thing in extreme metal. Since we are talking about extreme and prog you should check out Dodheimsgard last album Black Medium Current it's a total avant garde experience!

Hahaha you're the only one BESIDES ME who i've heard say this. Totally agree. Every time I hear 16:35 I always go to sing "Aurora swims in the ether" from Not Unlike the Waves hahaha

Hey Jim, can you please, please listen and react to Wintersun's long overdue and recently released album "TIME 2". The variety on it is astonishing with plenty of Oriental influences. It truly is a Masterpiece and was well worth the wait.

This too was enjoyable though perhaps slightly less exploratory than side 1. Many bases were covered though death metal remained the command and control centre and why not? It shows what a skilled and enterprising band can produce when venturing into territories not normally explored on the same slab of vinyl - shades of Babymetal with the mix of metal and kawaii J-pop. Then again, that got old fast but I hope that Blood Incantation doesn't.

Opeths Ghost Revaries must have been a huge inspiration to these guys. I also here some Be'lakor in here aswell especially the vocals.
