Great you like this album too. Oh I do give Fish credit; in Marillion and after he left them. I became a fan since his first solo album.

My daughter and I met him at The Porcupine Tree concert in Glasgow 2006. She had a smoke outside with him and he and I spoke about him not retiring. The Tree guitar influence is evident on this album and subsequent others. Thanks for playing this.

Jungle Ride is Fish telling a story of his teen years when he went to a local carnival and would try to pick up girls but there would be packs of gangs who would interfere with his attempts. There are carnival lyrics about goldfish and ping pong balls and games of chance and the Jungle Ride itself is the equivalent of a ride called The Himalaya that is in American carnivals. If you haven't tuned in to "Fish on Friday" which he has hosted since the pandemic then you are really missing out on great entertainment.

Very good to see you liked this one. For me one of his best! For me his voice is amazing on this album. Internal Exile is also a good album. Shdowplay one of his best song!

Hi Jim, I've always thought Worm in a bottle is a rather more updated follow on from Clutching at Straws. It's got that feel of the same person having a bit of a look back.

Yes agreed Fish's writing here is at least as great as with Marillion. I'm really impressed 👍👍...it's personal but with open arms is how I'd put it if that's any help Jim

You did the 321 Bosch twice!👏👏 Do like a Bosch! Oh the start of this side is Porcupine Tree esque.... especially the first transition....loving this Jim!❤ There's something very unexpectedly delicate I really like about Fishs groove on this album oh and track two his narration has a Bowie Outside era vibe....and parts of side 1 Bowie Earthling album sprang to mind a few times....

Given that you're enjoying the spoken word bits in this, Jim, I wonder how familiar you are with the works of Arab Strap. The music is totally different but they have a similar ambience with slightly seedy tales told in a strong Scottish accent (Falkirk rather than Dalkeith but they're pretty close to each other) Meanwhile, this album is top quality.

Isn't it "great" if you write a comment at night and next morning it's gone - BOSCH - 🤮🤣 Was it too long ? I don't know .. so I'll split my words up here and at part 3. I wrote yesterday, that this album is my favourite of Fish's albums, that I know. In part 1 I think Johnny Punter and Which color is God? are outstanding, but the other ones are good as well. The question about God made me remember another great lyric line. Von Hertzen Brothers sang in Peace Patrol "When God made man, SHE knew, it could be bad" 😆😆 Jungle Ride is another great track, his singing style always reminds me of .... don't get it right now 🤐 the Tequila song is great as well .. to be continued
