Crazy that there was even a debate as to whether Kerr deserved to be in the top 3 🤯 You don’t even have to be a Chelsea fan to see the impact she’s made in the WSL these last few years.

Honestly Izzy! Never seen such grading on a curve. Kerr potentially not in because she hasn’t won the UCL yet - whilst simultaneously making the case for Lauren hemp, Ellen white, Beth mead! None of whom have won the UCL - or even got close. Let’s compare Lauren hemp and Kerr for a second. They’ve essentially spent the same amount of time at top WSL clubs so this is only taking into account hemp @ city and Kerr @ chelsea… Hemp: 137 apps, 59 goals, 1 WSL title, 1 Conti Cup. Kerr: 128 apps, 99 goals, 4 WSL titles, 3 FA Cups, 2 Conti Cups. I’m in no way denigrating Hemp - she’s obviously a fantastic talent who is heading towards being genuinely world class. However, to even have the argument about who has been the more impactful forward in the WSL does a disservice to Kerr - never mind the ludicrous argument that Kerr should need a UCL title to merit selection ahead of Hemp, who hasn’t won anything close to what Kerr has in the WSL. Chelsea haven’t failed to win the league since Kerr’s arrival. They’ve also only lost once in the FA cup since her arrival and only twice in the Conti Cup - ironically, in the final two years running.

Kerr has won every wsl title she competed for since she arrived became top scorere twice out of three complete seasons. Makes Mary Earps the greatest WSL goalkeeper arguably a joke many times. 1.Kelly Smith 2.Beth England 3.Viviane Miedema 4.Sam Kerr 5.Rachel Yankey Ellen White,Lauren Hemp,Beth Mead,Alessia Russo all miss out but Hemp (23) will probably finish as number 1 even though she is playing in the era of a dominant Chelsea team she might not get team honours but she has 4 YPOTY already. Elisabeth Terland special mention for being top 3 in goal scorers playing for Brighton is incredible she probably needs to get a move most realistically to United/Liverpool to progress in her career.
