More like a trainwreck than a shipwreck, here's my review of Beaufort Londons Fathom V, a fragrance that is so green, you'll never want to go into a garden EVER AGAIN.

got a sample few days ago. First spray: Unbearable scent. Some days later, sprayed again: Fantastic smell.. No joke. Interesting brand this one :) Thanks for the review!

Oh I love it when you don’t like them! Always makes these first impressions that much funnier to watch 😂

lol honestly it's quite refreshing sometimes, since most of the time I'm looking at frags I own, and therefore at least like them a *little* bit! Makes it quite nice to get something as rough as this one from time to time, just to let loose a bit 😂

From memory my favorites were Coeur De Noir (loved the ink note), Iron Duke, and Lignum Vitae (a strange foodie/aquatic). I didn’t care for Tonnerre, but that’s a taste thing; I don’t like ashy, or extremely smokey scents. Vi Et Armis was nice, still a bit too smokey for me, but much more doable than Tonnerre. If I had to guess the ones you would like the most, I’d say Coeur De Noir and Vi Et Armis. Thank you for suffering through a full wearing of Fathom V for your subscribers...that’s taking one for the team...that stuff is headache and nausea inducing!!

Seariously? I have all the Beaufort London so far and the only one that seems “not wearable” for me is “Rake and ruin”.. all the other ones are like love at first sniff.. including Fathom V 🤷♂️ btw love your rewievs 😎👍

agreed, there's a weird greeness + soy sauce saltiness to rake and ruin

damp dark green shrubs, very bold on the earthiness. I like it a lot

I'm curious is you've tried Parfum Prissana's Haxan at all? It's way greener and way dirtier but more like a bog witch smell than a florist's bucket. Doesn't have the soapy smell at all but if anything I find it makes me feel a little sick for some reason even though I like it. With this I found the smell of a small florist's shop that's been open for years and never cleaned just always crammed full of flowers to be incredibly evocative and as someone who is very early on in their attempts at making perfume I find it technically kinda puzzling as it really does smell like loads of flowers in a room rather than the any floral essences. Still don't think I really want to smell like that though and the mid period definitely did have the issues you describe. The dry down many hours later I did find to be kinda enjoyable though, on myself, walking around outside. I don't think I'd want to smell like that in a small room with other people around though.

I love Beaufort and just bought some samples. This is my least favourite of them all. The bucket of water from the florist is a perfect description. I really didn’t like it at all, I thought it was going to have a vetiver vibe to it but it doesn’t. I didn’t scrub it off but I don’t want to wear it again.

Mr Scents, any chance to have crossed to a scent with strong damask rose, vanilla, and booze?
@TalkingScents5 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I'm not overly familiar with rose based scents, but ones I have tried that fit that description are "Bond No.9 - West Side" and "Montale - Intense cafe". I can ask people to drop any they know in the comments on my next video if you like 🙃

I hated Fathom V...the worst of the lot in my opinion. Too much green, too much lily, just too much.
