It is always a good rummage at Beaulieu Auto Jumble. I am glad you found the distributor cap that you were looking for Steph and well done to Rodger for his help. It does go to show that you CAN find what you want at the Beaulieu Auto jumble. Thank you for the video Steph. 👍👍

Great video Steph. We went for the first time ever and has a great time , managed to get round all the stall, think it took 6 hours. Non of the autojumbles are what they used to be - things change over the decades - still like no other though. Was also nice to bump into you and Lou and say hello - I was one of at least two there in a Rustival T-Shirt.

Hello Steph. Ibrahim in Canterbury here. I just knew you'd be at the Beaulieu Autojumble Steph because I still vividly remember your video from last year. I haven't had a chance to watch this yet but will do so very soon. I did view your Rustival video as well as that from HubNut. Will rewatch those again and comment. Your videos really mean so much to me and cheer me up no end, especially at this very difficult time after losing my very dear Mum on July 3rd. The fact that you've met my Mum and I in person at the NEC means a great deal to me. By the same token, the fact that I've met the three of you in person also means a great deal to me. Really wish I'd come out to Rustival, especially after seeing your videos. Next year! I'm also really looking forward to catching up with all of you in person at the NEC Classic Car Show, which as mentioned before, I'll be attending all 3 days. Look out for the gent with the Canadian flag. 🇨🇦 Thank You Steph for all that you do. Same also to Hubnut and Matt from Furious Driving. Ibrahim in Canterbury

I‘ve been in France (Lipsheim in Alsace) recently. Not that big but so many French stuff, which I love. Strolling around on flea markets of any kind is so good. The people, the smell, the bits and pieces… Thank for the impressions, Steph. See you soon, I’m curious about your new old car! Take care »»» Martin 🚗⚡️🔥💨🇫🇷

Wow, fantastic video Steph. Lovely outfit. I love seeing so many old parts and toy cars, pedal cars as well as the classic vehicles. I’d love to go to Beaulieu even if I don’t need parts! If you like estate cars Steph, maybe you should check out a Humber Sceptre estate, with the fake wood on the tailgate, production ended in 1976. I’d love to have one myself. I’ll be 60 next year and I fancy buying a 70’s Rootes car preferably a Hunter GLS. I can’t wait to see your mystery new car.

I was reading my stash of Practical Classics magazines from the early 90s I bought as a teenager recently and they are a great read now. I just have to remember that parts for 70s Leyland cars are not readily available, sub £10K does not get you a stunning E-Type and £500 no longer gets you a MK2 Capri that runs with the best costing no more than £2K.

Unfortunately Beaulieu auto jumble has shrunk by about a quarter over the last few years. The Yellow field is empty on the Saturday and only has the trunk traders on the Sunday. It used to be full of jumble stands over the entire weekend. Talking to some stall holders it would seem some blame the internet and brexit for the decline in the number of stalls. I'm not sure about the brexit theory although there certainly doesn't seem to be the same number of European traders I've seen in previous years and I have been coming to Beaulieu for over forty years. I've also been told that the price for a pitch is putting off some who also have to factor in travelling expenses etc. Don't get me wrong I still love this event and will continue to attend but it's obvious to anyone who's been coming for many years that it's not as big as it used to be. Even the number of cars in the auction was about half of previous years. I hope something can be done to restore this unique part of the classic car calendar.
@idriveaclassic2 ай бұрын
It’s not as big as it once was and talking to my European contacts, they can’t bring stuff over or back without incurring charges so they don’t bother now Brexit is in place. Doesn’t matter what people think of Brexit and my own personal views are irrelevant on the matter, but it’s a bloody shame we’ve seen knocks like this since the change. I don’t think this years changeable weather helped those who were on the fence either.

@@idriveaclassic I think one also has to factor in the popularity of eBay. If I see something on eBay that I need and the price is reasonable I'm going to buy it there and then and have it delivered to my door. It used to be a case of walking around auto jumbles or following ads in classic car magazines hoping that the right part will turn up. It's also made it easier and cheaper for sellers to box up items and put them online without having to leave their armchair. However for certain items the jumble is undoubtedly the place to go. For example, last year at Beaulieu I saw a pair of overriders for my car, new old stock for only £35! I snapped them up as soon as I saw them but the reason they were so cheap was because the guy didn't know what they were for so it would have been impossible for him to sell them online if he didn't know what car they were for. I think the Brexit issue is probably done through spite because the relatively small amounts of revenue gained from individuals like the European auto jumbler's would hardly cover the costs of recovering it. Another well presented enjoyable video.
