Andy - Please if you can visit Marlborough for the Mop fairs (5 October and the 12 October) Marlborough High street is closed midday Friday for the fair to set up. The fair runs from midday to midnight (sometimes closes early) and packs up overnight.

If only there was a serious version of one of these a few miles west of Beaulieu- linking the satellite towns & villages to the city of Bournemouth & Poole . The overall effect of workers & folk visiting the summer attractions & the nightlife would’ve freed them from Car ownership & the terrible cobbled together Road network which dominates life in the conurbation. These things were often suggested 40 & more years ago for not just coastal Bournemouth but for Greater Portsmouth 40 miles east but nothing happened & probably never will. It’s taken a local councillor 25 years of devotion just to get serious discussion for re using an existing goods railway from Totton to Hythe for passenger use ! When they say how the 7 million is all that’s needed to get it up and running , it defies rational thought when HCC has an annual budget of hundreds of millions. At least Monty managed decent links around his park for the peasants ! 🏴❤️🐢
