I'm mostly through Mexican Gothic and I'm really really enjoying it so far. It's kind of a haunted house story but with soooo many twists and turns. I'm honestly having such a hard time putting it down

Jennette McCurdy’s book was soooo good and eye opening when it comes to toxic family dynamics. Rock paper scissor was not my favorite as far as thrillers go, but I heard it’s coming to Netflix as a series.

Dream house by Carmen Maria Machado is an amazing memoir. Her writing style is like no other! It’s a memoir about her being in an abusive relationship with her gf and it’s just so mesmerizing I think about it all the time.

Highly recommend checking out Starling House by Alix E Harrow. It's like The Hazel Wood meets Ninth House. Soooo good! I loved The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy and am pumped that there is a sequel coming out next year! Saw another comment hyping Mexican Gothic and also have to second that one, excellent gothic creepy vibe for October.

You should listen to Inkheart, specifically the narration by Lynn Redgrave. It is YA but that narration specifcally just brings the book alive and it is an easy listen and a true book for booklovers. ❤

You need to check out Ashley Winstead if you haven’t. She has 3 thrillers (one published today) and 2 romcoms. Also, Crying in H Mart is such a great memoir.

After almost 3 months of not being able to watch your videos, I've binged all of them in 3 days. I've also added many of the books you've read to my TBR list. I'm currently reading Gallows Hill by Darcy Coates. I just started, but it seems pretty good so far. It's a horror novel about a girl who was sent away at a young age coming back to bury her recently deceased parents, to take over the family wine business and find out the dark secrets that lie within the house that is now her home. So far so good, but again, not very far into it yet. I've yet to reach the spooks

I look forward to these videos every month! Some books I think are especially good on audio are Know My Name by Chanel Miller, My Body by Emily Ratajakowski (both memoirs narrated by the author), Episode 13 by Craig DeLouie (horror about a ghost hunting reality show), None of this is true by Lisa Jewell (thriller w/ some fun mixed media), and Thank you for listening by Julia Whelan (a romance between audiobook narrators- & the author is a well known narrator)📚🍂

I read 11 books in Sept too! That's a lot of books, Betty Jean. Most people don't read 11 books in 6 months. I mostly read science fiction and fantasy, and memoirs of people escaping scientology. Lol. I don't know if you would be interested in anything I read, but I'll list them for you: Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff, Strange Dogs and Babylon's Ashes by James SA Corey, The Heroes by Joe Abercrombie, Prophet of Edan by Philip Chase, Fallen by Benedict Jacka, All the Dead Shall Weep by Charlaine Harris, and then a few more. I recommend the Vampire one but it's really dark.

I really enjoyed The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy, I read it this year as well. It was a pretty fast paced read for me and I finished it in two days or so. I liked the kind of magical realism of their world. I recommend House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson and A Marvelous Light by Freya Marske! House of Hunger is a kind of retelling of the Elizabeth Bathory legend and A Marvelous Light is the beginning of a fantasy trilogy set it Edwardian England.

Very interesting book ideas, I am really thinking about reading/listening to Jennette's book. Because I also had to struggle with the same problem concerning food... It triggers but I can handle it well by now. . As far as thrillers go, I highly recommend Simon Beckett's David Hunter series, great author.

Just wanted to come on here and say that I've been reading Lucy Score's Knockemout series because you talked about the 3rd one in the this video, which is the one I'm reading now, and let me just say that I was not prepared to enjoy them as much as I did. I'll probably finish Things We Left Behind today which means I'll have read all three books in just as many days, maybe a little longer because I had to wait for the other two to be delivered, but I was pleasantly surprised! It's not a genre I usually reach for (give me dragons and magic or give me death 😅) but the whole series was SO GOOD. Definitely need to fill my shelves with more of Lucy's books!

The Jenny McCarthy book was fantastic, I cried and laughed it was very triggering for me, but I didn't put it down. I definitely agree with you on the Lucy Score books they were an awesome trilogy and I am sad it's over. I am currently reading Daisy Jones & The six. It's been on my TBR for a long while, and it kept getting pushed back as so many good things came out that I had to read. Hope you have a wonderful day!😘💜☠️🧙♀️👻🎃🍂

For good audiobooks-not a memoir but a non-fiction book! The Truth About Animals by Lucy Cooke. Cooke is British and has a masters in Zoology and she narrates her own audiobook, which makes her dry British humor shine. Each chapter is devoted to a different animal and delves into weird and wacky things about that animal. Eels, vultures, hippos, frogs, hyenas, penguins, sloths, beavers. I laughed. I cringed. I’ll never look at penguins the same way again.

I'm new to your channel, so I'm not sure what you've read. I've been listening to and reading the Zodiac academy, and I really love it! I copied the description There's 8 of them in the series I think, I binge read a book a day 😅 I'm a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, I'm Fae. But of course, there's a catch - all I have to do to claim my birth right is prove that I'm the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically, that's true as I'm the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didn't put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could. The school they've sent me to is both dangerous as sh*t and one helluva party. Vampires bite weaker students in the corridors, the Werewolf pack has orgies in the Wailing Wood at every full moon and don't even get me started on the dark and twisted ways the Sirens use their powers on people's emotions, or how my sinfully tempting Cardinal Magic teacher hosts detentions that leave people needing therapy. Classes are totally interesting if you manage to live through them. And that Gemini star sign I mentioned? It now determines my elemental magic and affects my destiny, so learning astrology is essential if I'm going to beat down my classmates - which is actively encouraged by the way. My biggest problem is the drool worthy Dragon shifter, who has his eyes on my throne. He and his three psycho friends are determined to make my time here hell. All I've got to do is survive. But fate might have other ideas. Dammit, why couldn't I have gotten a letter to Hogwarts?
