I lived in Suva with my Indian husband for 5 years. I landed at Nausori airport at night time with our baby daughter. It was 1980. We lived at Nadera for about a year, and my in laws lived in the Caubati village, quiet far in to the bush. Then we moved to Samabula for about a year, the to Kinoya and then another suburb I can't remember the name of. Then back to Nadera for a while until September 1984 when I moved back to NZ. I've tried to find my former in laws place in the Caubato village on google earth but couldn't find it. Their old house may be long gone now and the isolated place where they were seems to have been developed somewhat. More and newer houses. before it was mostly farmland with cattle wandering the tracks to the bridge to the main highway. I used to walk those tracks, over the bridge and walk up the highway to the nearest shops on the right.
