Beautiful and Easy Native Plants for Shade

Great presentation, Ladies! I've been using natives in my gardens for years. Honestly, it started out as an inexpensive way to supply my plant addiction. At first, I got a good deal of criticism for sustaining all those "weeds", but here we are 40 years later, and my gardening style has become the current trend. I think it's time for folks to realize that it's a whole lot easier to have a lush garden of thriving plants, if the plants are designed by a creator greater than us, to grow where we live. That was common sense!

That's a great idea! I've rescued common violets from the lawn, relocated them to other areas, and they are thriving even after transplanting. Thanks for caring about our pollinators and protecting the plants that they need!

We are in the Chicagoland area, which is zone 6a. Many of the plants we covered in this video are hardy in multiple zones. In our next video we will add zone information about each plant.

We are in the suburbs of Chicago. Most of these plants are native throughout the Midwest, upper Midwest, and northeast.
