Can't believe anyone thinks shoebox Fords are ugly. One of the most popular cars ever in the '50s & '60s.

Stanton Gibbs truthfully I was never a fan but as with so many other vehicles things changed and now I love it even if it is rusty and rough lol

It's not always about how fast you get from point A to point B, it's how you look and feel getting there. ;-) Enjoy.

My older brothers first car was a '49 Ford. Bought in '58 for $25, I helped him work on it taking parts from three cars and also rebuilding the flat head V-8. I learned to drive with it in '61. Loved that beast. Almost the same color and in California too.

That's really cool! I sold mine to a good friend who has been making improvements on it. I'm glad it went to a good home

The great thing about the 85 and 100hp flatty v8s, is that it is so easy to hop them up to some nice power. Set of offy heads, dual carb high flow intake with some good carbs, some lake pipes, and a 3/4 race cam. 150hp+ easy, and you'll get much better response from the motor. Best of all, it's all period modifications. Enjoy that car man! I cruise around in a 1926 Model T, so I know all about.the slow ride 😀

Sometimes slow is better anyway. Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍

Cool car Mike. My Dad was driving a black 49 Ford when he and my mother met. I was imagining him driving that car when you were at the wheel. And what it would have been like way back when!!!

Love the car but can't get on board with your "face only a mother could love" assessment... the front end of those 49-50 Fords has to be one of the coolest looks around.

I agree, they do have a beautiful design

Nice 50... I had a 50 a few years ago and kinda got on the kick to get another one for all the same reasons you stated. So a couple weeks ago I bought a 51 Victoria that was restored about 5 years ago. Its a lot nicer car than I was looking for but that's never a bad thing.
@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction2 жыл бұрын
Definitely never a bad thing. Enjoy your car and thank you for watching!

Just saw the '56 Chevy later in the video. I've owned three of those and wish I had any one of them today. My last one was completely Orange in color which was great as I went to Orange High in the city of Orange in the county of Orange, Ca. Class of '65. Go Panthers.
@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction5 жыл бұрын
That really is awesome. You should pick up another and paint it orange again, would be cool!
