We LOVED our trip to The Philippines and we went to 14 different places in total from going all the way up North to Vigan, to the islands down South with the bluest water we have ever seen! 🇵🇭 We enjoyed many adventures together in this beautiful country and tried as much food as we could fit in too! We would really appreciate any recommendations and ideas for our next trip, anything we missed? Where do you think we’d enjoy exploring next? James made your money worth , its not just a trek , but introduces the beetle nut chewing which makes your teeth strong , and the self-sufficient pounding of rice for family consumption . It retains more of its nutrients than rice mill . And that traditional house!!! I sit for an hour in the corner of it , just immersing myself on its tranquility & spectacular view ( betwern 4-5 pm ) . Someday , i will visit Batad again.
@jhunneoyiesariapanliliogar20332 жыл бұрын
It's betel nut dear. And whoever told you that chewing that nut is good for your teeth is lying. On the contrary, regular chewing of betel nuts causes tooth decay, and gum disease and can also lead to oral cancer. Don't take my word for it, you can research and find it out yourself. In this time and age of advanced technology and increasing knowledge, I expect people to be a bit more responsible in blurting out things and not just rely on old beliefs, sayings, and obsolete knowledge. We have to constantly upgrade our understanding of things to keep abreast with time.

Oh… now I miss home. Last time I went to Batad was 14 years ago. They say if you are from an area, you tend to miss out on what other people see… I grew up in Ifugao and I’m still in awe everytime I see it. Perhaps it’s because we attribute it more as our link to our ancestors just imagining how they carried those rocks from the bottom of the mountain to create those terraces without any tools. As for the betel nut chewing, this is mostly in the Ifugao region. It does not have any particular health benefits but it is like having coffee and cigarette after a big meal but without the risk of lung cancer. 😂 And because of the lime, you rarely see plaque in their teeth but it does harm the gums overtime. People say the Banaue rice terraces is the 8th wonder of the world, although not officially, as a UNESCO heritage site, it is still a place worth visiting.

Hey guys, i just saw a vlog earlier on a place here called BILIRAN which is a small island province in the Visayas region. The beauty of the place just blew me away. It's off the beaten track and not touristy, so if you want that kind of setting with island beaches and beautiful falls, you might want to consider it. Check out the video: HAWAII OF THE PHILIPPINES - BILIRAN ISLAND by Jumping Places And someone here also suggested TAGAYTAY. Yes, i think you should also visit it before you head to the southern islands. Tagaytay is only about 3 hrs drive south of Manila. It has the famous TAAL VOLCANO within a lake. The other popular places to visit there are SKY RANCH AMUSEMENT PARK, TWIN LAKES (my favorite), and CROSSWINDS RESORT (mini Switzerland). :)
