I cried so hard. It was a golden time to grow up in Brizzie. Love, love, love it. Clem Jones. I was aware of him even at the age of 6. Thank you so very much for this. 😀

Anne. I have only now, today, come across your comment, but I agree with you 100%. Growing up in the Brissie of that era was a privilege. Best wishes, Jim

Clem Jones was a good friend (they went fishing together) of my uncle Ken Hughes who was contesting a seat for labor back in the early 70s in East Brisbane.

Thank you for the acknowledgement, I also remember going past Peter's ice-cream on one side of the street and Paul's on the other to get to school.

I lived in ENOGGERA, where I spent most my youth going to Oakleigh State School. TC's Sound lounge, DeBrazill, The 'Prim" (Primitif Coffee Cafe under the Piccadilly arcade stairs and Spag Bog.! The Beatles at Festival Hall. I am 77 now. And what a great song. You captured it all. Thanks. :-)

The song mentions the Piccadilly Arcade. My parents owned the coffee shop and Bistro in it from 1978 to 1986.

WJM. I spent a lot of time in Piccadilly. I reckon your parents got it right in their time there. Cheers Jim

I made a lot of friends at the 'Prim' coffee lounge in the Piccadilly arcade. 1963 to 72. :-) A lady named Peta owned it then, with the cook 'Mer' with spaghetti bog then.

Now that brings back memories especially. The boat house on a Wednesday night with Bill Gates and chook. Spinning the 45s to dance to.

Your comment has just shown up on my phone. Thanks Paul. Yes, Wednesday night at the Boathouse was a must . I sent this song to Bill Gates a few years back, and he was gracious enough to respond. I loved those days. Best wishes, Jim

I learned to do the 'jive' at the boathouse. Me and my ripple sole shoes. How wonderful life was. 4BC and 4BH with Saturday arvo 'Ring a Request.'!
