A lot of cool things in this theater. He really needs some acoustic treatments placed within those speaker cabinets though (the ones hiding the front speakers) It's cheap, easy, and a noticable upgrade in sound 👍🏻 Pillow cases and fiberglass... Rockwool or denim insulation would do the trick as well 😉 As it sits, the cabinets are guaranteed to be coloring the sound to some degree or another.

whoa.. a basement in Florida. That's rare. I moved down here in 2019 and basements are all so common up north. The most likely way you're getting a basement in Florida is building into a hillside. Clermont is kinda hilly on Florida standards. That's west of Orlando.

First of all love your man cave. As to your French doors, it would be very simple to a few cans of the auto paint that is made to be able to peel off at will. It would tremendously aid in cutting out the outside light on all of it with no problem whatsoever. Awesome man cave.

If you think his projector is old you should see mine LOL. Really envious of the size of his space, if I'm ever able to move into a bigger house my dream would be to have a dedicated room with a 2nd row platform. Until then I'm just happy my wife was willing to let me drill into our living room ceiling for our electric pulldown screen. Hopefully moving into the 4k realm and ditching my old Viewsonic pro8200 this year, fingers crossed. Wish I took more pictures of different setups I've had over the years, the journey is at least half the fun. Thanks for making these videos, it's inspiring to see what people with different pocketbook levels and different approaches do with their setup.

I would not recommend having a center channel that is a different brand than his L&R.

@@Youthman Come on. You should know better than to think brands mean real match. UNless your center is identical to the LR and in the SAME orientation, the sound is NOT going to be the same at all. Even worse the tower has very limited vertical dispersion so you are gaining nothing with that setup. The opposite! The monolith, of many I have tested with my 590s, sounds amazing and no worse than any of the JBLs in terms of timbre match (aside from having all the same towers in vertical position). I have tested it. Have you?

I have not tested it but I'm VERY curious how a soft dome tweeter from the Monolith will sound anything close to a compression driver in the JBL? That just logically doesn't make sense.

@@Youthman I'm not saying it sounds the same but neither does the 580 much less horizontally with the limited vertical dispersion creating all sorts of issues and limited off axis. Timbre match is pure marketing nonsense unless you are using the same speaker in the same orientation. To think otherwise.. THAT logically really makes no sense. Again I have tested this, you haven't.
