I am at this very moment making Wedding invitations for my grandson's wedding. I am also using 300gsm pearlescent card. I am finding rolling through my Grand Calibur is heavy going, and I am only using one card shim. You don't seem to be be having a problem rolling through with lots of shims.

I seem to recall it often took several passes to cut it out cleanly using my Big Shot, so understand your issue. Takes a bit longer but well worth it , even if time consuming. I did around 70 invitations so took a while. One hint is to use fresh cutting plates and I found the precision cutting plate on the bottom helped too. It was worth the investment.
@valfricker76044 жыл бұрын
I am using brand new plates and reversing the top plate after each roll through. The machine seems to stiffen up after doing about three, so I've decided to do two at a time. Thanks for your reply

This is beautiful, can you please tell me what type of cardstock you used and where to get it. Ty!

Hi , so pleased you like it. I used pearlescent/pearl cardstock 300gsm(90lb). I am in the UK and ordered it from www.thepaperbox.co.uk but many good craft shops sell similar cardstocks wherever you are in the world, as of course does Amazon. Hope that helps.

@@JeanWaters ty so much, I'm in New York USA I hope I can get it here as I have been trying to get the cordenos imperial cardstock and its been a headache because no one sells it here in the US.

@@panchosworld9423 I hope you succeed! Just make sure it is double sided as some pearlescent card can be one side only.Worth checking.

How can I buy this die
@JeanWaters4 жыл бұрын
I bought mine from Amazon but suspect it is no longer available . Worth looking on your browser for Elizabeth Craft designs lace card and romantic corner dies but there are similar ones currently on Amazon too eg tinyurl.com/y4apakf4 and no doubt Ebay too.

Love your video, few questions. What size paper did you start with? how did you make the pocket portion before it was cut?
@JeanWaters5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kia. Glad you liked the video. To answer your questions: I used A4 paper to start with, cutting it to 15cm ( 6 inches) width and then scoring and folding along its length. The pocket uses the large corner pocket die, so was actually the easy bit. Have a look on my blog page. jestelia.com/blog/wedding-invitation-wallets as that might help too. Any other questions - just ask. Happy to help.

Hello, I would have liked to know the size of your paper the steps you take to bend and where you found the model for the machine thanks in advance, sorry for my english I'm french
@JeanWaters5 жыл бұрын
Paper is A4 ( 29.7cm x 21cm) cut to 15cm width ( 29.7cm x 15 cm). I scored it using a score board and bone folder at 8cm and 19 cm . If you don't have a scoreboard you could use a ruler and a blunt knife. Keeping the ruler along the score line fold the paper over , then remove ruler and smooth the fold using either a bone folder or the back of a metal spoon. The dies ( Découpe en métal ) were Lace card and Romantic corner from Elizabeth Craft Designs and I bought them on Ebay UK . They are also available on Amazon. I hope that helps!
