Maj 7th chords are so wonderful because they add a sort of 'velvet textured tension' which hangs in the air, and this can be released when you go back to the major root triad. C Maj 7th -> C...F Maj 7th -> F. Rinse and repeat. Wonderful to dance back and fourth between them. Check your blood pressure before you sit at the piano. Then after playing these arpeggios for 15 minutes or so, check again, and I guarantee a reasonable drop in pressure and stress. Happy, healthy playing. :-)

You are a marvelous teacher.I was classically trained and could not play chords to accompany You are my Sunshine. You have changed all that for me. I now meddle with all the chords because you made me believe I could. Thanks.

Lisa does it again, reading our collective minds😁 Wonderful! I seriously tried the straight boring way of practicing 7th chords. Nothing penetrated my fingers. So I'd been struggling to find a musical sounding practice for 7th chords, they are so important and here it is.

Yes! You were right! It DOES sound beautiful and dreamy! I will definitely use this. What fingering should i use when playing sevenths and their inversions?
@PianoteOfficial4 жыл бұрын
So for root position I use: 1-2-3-5 For 1st inversion I use: 1-2-4-5 For 2nd inversion I use: 1-2-3-5 And for 3rd inversion I use: 1-2-3-5
All I can see for ALL your videos....THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
