Its funny how everyone always has a comment and the one who always attack the ones who are actually out there propagating the message of Hussain, are the ones who should be behind these teachers. If it wasnt for Ali Fadhil I wouldnt have learned about Shi'a Islam and the tragedy of Karbala and how? Through his sacrifice by singing, by reciting poetry and so on. I am not muslim but I am a Middle Eastern History major and Hussain with Karbala will always be in my heart. I hope to one day to visit to Karbala and I want to thank you for your poetry and nohas. May Hussain guide you and the Shi'as who are dying for his cause like Sheikh Nimr al Nimr.

what?!? This sounds like something I'd hear in a mall. I don't understand why nohas must be so musical... I do respect your poetry and the words of this are beautiful but unfortunately it's presentation is disappointing :/

why is the musical piece in the background so bad for you ? tell him how it affects you psychologically or physically ? other than it propagates it's messages to the generation of today.

Yes it does matter to me the stuff that's put out there and i shall explain! Lamentation on the atrocities of Ashura started with reciting the story of Karbala with every one wailing and doing matam! since then we have had beautiful congregations where the the tragedies of karbala are recited in heart rending latmiyas ,nohas etc... Now sadly people try to merge it with music (ie -musical instruments etc...) not only that but the style of reciting it as well is musical (at this point i'm being general) The excuse of appealing to the younger generation makes no sense what so ever! You can't use haraam too propagate an islamic message. adding music to a noha is so common that people then start to question why it is haraam at all because they feel that if it passes a good message then why not! and that my friend is a big problem! Nohas weren't meant to be appealing or good to listen too .It's goal is to educate people about the sad reality of karbala and invite people to share the pain felt by the lovers of the Ahlulbayt after karbala! as I said the words of this are beautiful but the casual way it presents its story is disappointing!!

Music isn't haraam. Look at the word in the hadiths that's being translated as 'music' - it doesn't directly translate.

sad reality of Karbala? is Karbala only meant for us to cry like sheep's or to take lessons and reflect them into actions ?
