Hey guys, my wife and I completed on this house on Friday. We're the new proud owners! We had been looking in Abruzzo and stumbled across your page 2 weeks after you uploaded this video. We contacted the agent in January, flew out to view the property at the end of January and collected our keys just last week. Thank you for your amazing video, your fun way of presenting and sharing information and finally for finding us our "castle on the hill". For us it's a holiday home that we will visit approximately 1 week each month and we absolutely love it. Please be aware, the Mayor has a plan to build a waste incineration plant near Todi. If the plan goes ahead I don't think you would buy a property next to a pollution spewing chimney.

@@RosieJosieTravels They were supposed to discuss the proposal at the end of March. However, it's all postponed after the election of the new regional government next month. The other option is Marsciano, approx 15km from Todi, but that's just a rumor.

My dad was a military spy, and when he got notice in 62 that we were going to be transferred to Verona it ment he had to do a year of languag study in Monterey Calif. [which he did on 3 other occasions as well]. Verona was wonderful to me and I am still in contact with a lady who became my mothers dearest friend. The place was magic and I cane back about every 5 years or so since 98 when life took me back there. I know little of Abruzzo, but one of my best friends is Italian and from that area. I am contemplating retiring there, but I have probably another year at least, of working. I am an old IT person working at a Univerdity here in Australia. Just came across this video and your channel. I actually really enjoyed it and the house was beautiful. Not knowing the laws of a foreigner buying a house in Italy raises many questions. Would a foreigner actually OWN the house if bought? What about residency laws? Can a foreigner own it, but rent it out? Any info would be great. TY

Sadly I am with you on that one. I think they called it endless shaking in 2016. Though it certainly is a wonderful home it is also in Umbria. Big sigh... (sadly I had also considered Piemonte region but believe similar back in 2012 occurred--You Tube has videos) I still love both regions.

There are geological maps of Italy that show areas more prone to tremors and earthquakes as well as towns that have suffered devastating earthquakes. Older homes in these areas albeit charming can have hidden structural damage. Italy like California has codes for new builds in the earthquake prone areas. Possibly, the cost of retrofitting an older "charming" house would add considerably to the inexpensive original cost. Better to go in with your eyes wide open, right?

We are retired and cash ready buyers. We bought tickets to see this house and was prepared to pay cash. One day before we left the Realtor told us the house was sold. We went anyway to make a vacation of things. The main message is to suggest houses get marked SOLD. This would help your followers not to waste time on a house that isn't even on the market anymore. This helps you to show us that your presentations are the best on Utube. Thanks for what you do.

Why would you buy tickets to see a house before talking to the realtor? That’s beyond ridiculous and you not doing your due diligence isn’t really their problem.

We put all listing links in our video descriptions. If you reach out to the agent, they'll be able to let you know a property's status and also show you other homes they have available.
