I am a 61, playing since a child but trained to read sheet music; teacher always played the song; I learned no timing. All I learned was to read notes, LOVE the piano, and play anything as long as I knew the melody. A recent student of Pianotes, theory has exploded in my brain. Still ... I have been struggling with the concept of numbered fingers in chords. 1564, etc. I think you have unlocked yet another door closed to me. THANK YOU !!! I am so happy to have found your channel!!!

Great Series! Keep up the good work. As a total novice to the piano i find it very encouraging and motivating going through your small but very helpful and musical exercises to get my fingers moving. this is really needed when you are a beginner. in time you discover music theory and everything that comes with it and you really come to like it because you understand it much better because you were doing these musical exercises to train your hands and ears. And my highschool music teacher told me i was amusical. Now I know it doesn't matter when you start piano if you are 40 or 80 as long as you have fun playing. And your tutorials definately put a lot of fun into learning to play the piano!

The first pattern is in Vince Guaraldi’s Cast Your Fate To The Wind. I never thought about using it in other pieces. Very nice video.

Those are beautiful patterns but how do I apply them to an actual song? I hope you can do a tutorial on that!

Wow, this is beautiful. But I think it begs for a lot of practice and concentration. It sounds like Cold Play!!!
