I think a big part of it must be the environment they're in. The land the sanctuary is on looks so peaceful, and when they're out for their walks, there's lots of room for everyone to have their own space. If they want to be closer to other dogs, it's by choice and not because they're crowded together. We occassionally see a dog who wants a little time to themselves, and they'll sit or lie down away from the rest of the dogs for a little alone time. There are some kennels in the house, but most of the dogs don't use them. For them, it feels like a home environment, not a stressful shelter environment. When the dogs aren't experiencing any anxiety or fear due to their surroundings, I think it helps them to be relaxed, to feel trusting and safe; and I think that helps them get along. If they were all tense and anxious, that would just cause bad energy in general, and would probably lead to aggression between them. I know what I'm trying to say, I'm just not sure if I worded it properly. I hope you understand what I'm saying.😊

The field at the end of video , the Sun starting to set, dogs all around- that’s what I imagine heaven is like ❤. I walk in that beautiful field, all my dogs thru- out my life running to greet me as well as all my passed loved ones. What a beautiful gift you give these deserving dogs! I’m also a cat lady now and for most of my life but I’ve also had dogs.a rabbit,fish and lizards, of course not all at the same time but for many years I had 2 dogs and 2 cats who worked out their boundaries early and lived together in harmony as long as I kept the cat’s dishes and litter boxes away from access by the dogs.

You have probably seen videos of Pyrs letting baby goats bounce off them, well the cats pretty much mimick baby goats. I also have a black cat Raben, named by a 2 yr old so not Raven, who follows the Pyrs when they walk the fence line. Nothing funnier than 4-5 white Pyrs being followed by a black cat...

I am doing fine. I live in Australia and I am 71. We lost our little dog last year so we couldn't decide to rescue another dog or two cats. We adopted 2 ginger cats in January from our local shelter. They had been there for 6 months after their owner had died. We love them so much. My husband has built them a catio so they don't roam and jump fences .
