Nuclear capable. Our 'major trading partner' to the north probably had no idea they were here, whilst attempting to track them across the Pacific. (probably heard from Oz TV news...lol.) Uninterrupted flight with stealth is a wonderful thing. :) Only downside, (if we could buy them) those two aircraft would probably consume half our national defence budget.

Great crosswind landings. I've never thought about how this is done on a rudderless aircraft. Is that 1 tanker for each Spirit?
@brodricj30233 ай бұрын
I would have thought a rudderless aircraft wouldn't be affected so much by crosswind.
@jetalse79743 ай бұрын
@@brodricj3023 A rudderless aircraft is still blown sideways by a crosswind.
@brodricj30233 ай бұрын
@@jetalse7974 It's not about being blown sideways. The challenge in landing is about the weather-cocking effect of the cross wind which is exacerbated by the aircraft tail. B-2 being blown sideways but with its longitudinal axis still being aligned with the runway is not an issue. But with a vertical tail the cross wind causes the longitudinal axis of the aircraft to be out of alignment with the runway and that is the challenge for landing.

No one thinks much about it bro. That's how good fly by wire is. The pilot just has to tell it what needs doing, it's the computer's problem how it gets done 🤣

From the Top of Flinders Peak you can see the whole of Amberley Airbase. Mt Blaine the Pyramid on the left of Flinders must cause a few navigational problems to the base considering it generates a lot of Electromagnetic Energy.😊👍👽
@LesleyDT62273 ай бұрын
Can you explain the electro magnetic energy thing more? Where is this pyramid?
@iamgod64643 ай бұрын
@@LesleyDT6227 Well Mt Blaine is part of the group of Mounts associated with Flinders Peak near Ipswich, Queensland. Back in the 80's we use to Bush Walk around these Mounts and climb Flinders Peak. Everytime we approached Mt Blaine our Compasses would go wild and we would feel as if we were entering somewhere that wasn't part of this planet. Once, back in 1984, we actually camped near the Slope of Mt Blaine and we experienced all sorts of strange phenomena like high pitched sounds, lights, and shadowy figures woundering around in the bush. The following day we watched a Helicopter from Amberley land a Man on top of the Mount. Then lift him off and head back to the Base. It's a weird place.
