There is a song in their NCT 2020 album called My Everything, sung by Renjun, Xiaojun and Taeil (pretty much each one representing their units Dream, WayV and 127 as a main vocalist). Those 3 together in one song was just magical, they’re 3 of my top vocalists in NCT and that says a lot. I freaked out when it was first dropped and I don’t think I will ever get tired of their vocal galore in it.

Renjun’s technique is insane and you’re so right he emotes incredibly well with his voice I was about to cry 😭😫 Renjun sang it with such gentleness/tenderness and sorrow? as if he’s reminiscing a past lover he loved dearly while xiaojun sang it in more of a pleading way which I loved as well!

@@xzzkat placement and support are different things but both are very important in vocal health! I can tell by own experience, there's a specific open and full sound that is produced when a note is supported, and when it's optimal it can lead to resonance. Renjun's voice is what we'd call "shallow" in vocal pedagogy lingo. Placement is basically where you "put" your voice. Where it should resonate. It depends on how you open your mouth, direct the air, if your soft palate is high, etc. Renjun placement is very nasal, but tbh most of the NCT vocalists (except XJ, DY and Jaehyun) are very nasal. Being nasal isn't necessarily unhealthy, tho (Taeil can be nasal sometimes and he's still very good) but it's used as a crutch by many singers who haven't developed their technique yet and it can get in the way of them improving.

@@xzzkat i don't think it's super glaring for other people like haechan and kai, for example. it's just my teacher made me sing while pinching my nose for a long time to get rid of nasality and my ear is super sensitive to that sound... war flashbacks.

Chinese songs are SO good lol. Chinese is very naturally dramatic, so chinese lyrics tend to come off as quite poetic especially when translated, which i LOVE. Even wayv’s upbeat tracks have dramatic, poetic lyrics. This song is such a ‘classic’ chinese song, i think most chinese youths (i.e. me) know it and love it. I was so freaking stoked that this was the song they chose, and they did SO good on this bcs in my opinion, these two specifically have that ‘chinese’ style in their voices.

agreed on this. I'm not a fan of chinese songalthough im a chinese myself(haha dont ask me why, idk why either), but i do feel that Chinese's songs lyrics tend to be more poetic compared to other language of songs. As this is a sad song, i think, so RenJun definitely suit this kind of song as his voice sounds gender and...sad?sorrow? not sure how to describe that while XiaoJun just good in telling story by his voice? sorry i just dk how to describe their voices haha, they just have such good voices!!

So for the name, just so that you know, the X is pronounced as "sh" of sheep so like shia-o-jun. He did other covers, also an Exo one, and he has an angelic voice. If you're not sure with the pronunciation you ca also call him Dejun (his real name). Live your reactions 💕💕

I love this cover and your reaction 🥰 I don't know many Chinese singers, but I listen to some, and the original artist of this song Eric Chou is one of those I actually know, so I was so excited for this cover! I wanted to hear my favorite NCT's vocalist Renjun singing it, since his tone is so different compared to the original singer. Xiaojun's is more similar to Eric, deep and powerful, while Renjun's is emotional and delicate. And I was not disappointed, I loved Renjun's voice on that and when they were singing together it was SO GOOD 😍 I'm in love with their version of this song. And I love hearing Renjun singing in his native language, somehow I think his voice is even more emotional like that 💚

thank you for your reaction!! i have been watching your videos for like the last 3 days straight haha. renjun is hands down my favorite nct vocalist & it saddens me that he doesn't often get the praise he deserves so thank you so much for showing him love!! idk if you'll see this comment but if you do i would recommend my everything (with taeil and xiaojun), be there for you (with haechan and chenle), puzzle piece (nct dream), fireflies (nct dream), candle light (nct dream), no. 1 (nct dream cover of boa), a new beginning (with chenle), and his cover of fools by troye sivan for songs that really show off his vocals!! puzzle piece especially has incredible amounts of layering, and i always find joy in picking out his and haechan's harmonies

I was not expecting to see you react to this! All your NCT reactions are becoming welcome surprises and I'm glad you're loving our boys. This was truly a beautiful showcase of some of NCT's main vocalists and their skill. Renjun and Xiaojun (she-ow-ju-in) have voices that blend together amazingly, it's like listening to angels. This cover is so good and reminds me of an NCT U song 2Jun took part in as well, that also featured Taeil, a main vocalist of 127, creating an iconic trio of main vocalists from each unit. The song is called "My Everything" and it's stunning, I hope you check it out, whether as a reaction or on your own. Xiaojun's voice is very warm and unique (if you see his song with WayV member Kun, you can rally feel that warmth and fullness) and Renjun's is so light and airy, they are standouts in their own units, but compliment each other so well when they're together. Also they're both tiny members and it's cute lol Whether you continue to do NCT reactions (and I hope you do of course, especially since they've got a lot planned for this year) I'm just glad you're getting to see the talent and skill NCT have that gets often overlooked.
