Hello Mrs. Donna... This Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake is named well. When Dude #1 brought this in, I could not wait to taste it. The layers were so magical together. The gooey pumpkin had amazing flavor that only Ms. Donna could create. The butter portion of the cake was just that...buttery goodness that held together very well. This cake is one of my favorites! I absolutely love the videos that you two create!! You two were brought together on purpose for a great reason!! You two are wonderful together! Hi Mrs. Donna! As a local where the original gooey butter cake comes from I actually love seeing all the different variations of it! This is a great twist on it! Yes, I too wanted to be one of your taste-testers but I heard Dude#1 say applications are closed in a previous video. Now other St. Louis natives are very particular about this well-loved cake, especially because the original isn't actually box cake.The crust actually is more like a pastry dough. I'm not a pumpkin eater either, but I think both pumpkin and sweet potato are great additions for gooey butter cake flavors, especially for fall! The spice flavor crust is an amazing twist! I’ve always wondered why southerners ate sweet potatoes more, and northerners ate pumpkin more. Turns out it’s because they’re grown in the regions where they’re typically eaten. Makes sense. As a northerner, I love pumpkin cakes, breads, pies, you name it. Adding this to my baking repertoire!
