This show is overall good. Belle is very nasally, she needs to work on tall vowels and lifting her soft pallet while singing. This will make it less squeaky. Gaston is hysterical! He has such great comedic timing and his voice has a really nice vibrato to it. Mrs potts, is my absolute favorite out of your cast. She has a very open singing voice with lots of resonance. Whoever played mrs. potts was phenomenal.

It's almost like the actress for Belle is channeling Giselle from Enchanted -- lots of flittery, dainty hand motions and wide-eyed innocence. It's an interesting choice, but I think Belle is a more grounded character than that. She may have a big imagination and sense of romance, but she's not a flighty "princess-y" girl.

I do agree she reminded me of Giselle A LOT. it seems like she did bring more of a girly,romantic side to the role. now,I haven't watched the whole thing but I'm not against it. I also agree with what someone else said: she brought her own tone to the character. it's nothing bad,I think. I actually like it thus far.

The girl who played Belle was talented but I'm afraid she had been miscast. She would better fit roles like Elle Woods or Galinda in my opinion. The sets and costumes are really good!

The costumes and sets are really good in this play. Most, if not all, of the actors and actresses in this play were really good. However, I do have to say that the girl who played as Belle did seem to channel her inner Giselle from Enchanted which was an interesting approach, but at the same time you have to keep in mind that Belle is seen as a strong and independent female character. Just thought I'd give some friendly feedback. :)

I am happy Capital Playhouse is consigned to the dustbin. It was for many years held as the best community theater company in the Olympia/Thurston area but was horribly damaging to many such as myself who participated in it. Directors routinely verbally abused the children in their summerstock program, who ranged in age of eight to sixteen. The abuse was permitted under the patina of preparing young actors for a professional environment. As an overweight fifteen-year-old, I was told to practice a routine until I mastered it and would know because it would be "the most exercise I ever got in my life." This verbal lashing released upon me in front of fifty of my peers. The reality was extremely sick and twisted failed professional creatives unloading their own neuroses and self-loathing onto the vulnerable and underage. This in addition to the excessively expensive cost to be in their productions. The theater did eventually collapse due to gross financial mismanagement and a prominent figure associated with the theater arrested for an alleged sex crime. A cautionary tale for little theater companies all over. Treat people well.
