Because St Zachary is using Curtis as bait to get Qing Qing. He doesnt care much about Curtis, he just wants Qing Qing so he can use her body to put Kris's soul into. Curtis being unconscious and unable to fight is a bonus and makes it much easier for St Zachary to get to Qing Qing. But now with Muir being her mate too and almost healed from his broken wing, Muir is a problem now. The advantage he has over Curtis is that he knows St Zachary and can use that to either negotiate or defeat him. So it might be beneficial to take out Muir since he might know some secrets. Or maybe St Zachary will make a plan and take out both Curtis and Muir which leaves Qing Qing with only two 4 streak beast protecting her. But in the end I dont think St Zachary will fall for the bait from Muir. He's too smart for that and he really doesnt care about Muir or Curtis or anyone else. They are just in the way of him getting Qing Qing and he wants her to use her body to put Kris's soul into in order to bring her back from the dead.

Winston is calm, cunning, and thinks things through. Muir has had a character arc where he went from immature, manipulative, and violent to making amends for his wrong doings, he's quiet, determined, and loyal even if the loyalty isnt returned.
