I've noticed that black owned eyeshadows and lipsticks are always really pigmented because they want to make sure that the shadows show up on everyone no matter the skin tone.

In my opinion it honestly depends on which generation you are addressing, tone of voice, geographic area, etc. so I completely understand your plight. I identify as black not AA simply because I did not come from Africa recently and because my lineage is well mixed with mostly Native American and French as well as African. Quite honestly, I feel that POC in Gen X identify more so with black than AA. Neither is right or wrong it is solely preference. Tati feels comfortable and confident saying black and I loved that she was so comfortable doing so. But if you aren't, don't. And don't over think it if you should said AA vs black or vice versa. I chuckle a little when my white friends slip and say 'black' vs AA and they look at me flustered and panicked and begin apologizing and I have to assure them that it's ok that I am Black. :)

I really appreciate Tati giving makeup tips and showing us how she applied the makeup she's reviewing. She's one of the few who consistently do this. It's really annoying when a beautytuber is talking about specific products but they're wearing other brands in that video and never show how they use it. I LOOOOOOOVE THIS BRAND! SO MUCH! The lip whips are amazing and the eyeliner is fantastic and I love the BROWnies (brow gel). I'm so glad that you showcased this brand because I was interested to see how the other items through the line performed. I have a darker complexion and am actually wearing Sangria Splash right now and it looks amazing on both of us! lol... These colors really fit everyone and this brand even helped me branch out and try new shades that I never thought I would. No one should hesitate to buy this brand even if they think it's too pricey at first. The fact that no reapplication is needed makes it worth your money and longer life of the item. If anyone is hesitating, just buy it, you'll be happy you did! Everyone I know knows I love this brand and when I am complimented, I will always tell them about Beauty Bakerie.

Nikkitutorials jut did a Naked Heat look, and she really liked it and it ended up looking much better than the swatches. But she is SUPER pale so that does change how well the shadows show up. The swatches I saw on darker skin were questionable.

You should try Dermacol, Czech brand that invented make-up and sold it to the Hollywood. They have awesome make-up. primers and also mascaras. But they sell everything from teh decorative comestics and also skincare.

One thing I love about black owned brands is that they often cater to ALL skintones, especially how they do a great job of making great shade matches for the various shades of black women/women of color. These companies could easily not make lighter shades for lighter skintones, since so often black women aren't catered to, but most of the time they take the high road and make shades for everyone no matter the skintone/race. If these BO, indie brands can do it, why can't these more well known billion dollar companies do it? smh

Probably because the truth of the matter is if they just made it for darker skin tones it wouldn't sell as well or be as profitable. If they excluded lighter skin tones they would be closing themselves off to a very high percentage of the cosmetic consumers.

The thing I love about black owned brands is how flattering the colours are on so many different skin tones. I'm pale as sheet but I love using back owned brands especially when it comes to eyeshadow because they often have a lot of vibrant colourful shades, I'm so bored of the hundreds of nude palates that other companies keep coming out with tbh. I hope Beauty Bakerie makes its way to Australia soon :

Rinoa Heartilly they have free international shipping get on it. Many of the lip colours were way bright for me but the nude ones and the fuschia one could work. The eyeshadow would work in any skin tone and I love the frosts. It's a lot more fun than most other brands
