@@servantofthelord2101 Nobody who lives in a body of sin (flesh) can stop, as we are also living in the corrupted world, in the valley of the shadow of death. If we live and breathe in Christ, we remain in Him. We repent of sin, and dont habitually sin over and over with the predetermined decision to do it.

@@servantofthelord2101 Yes. But not by our own power, but the power of the Holy Spirit. That's why we are called to no longer yield ourselves as servants to sin, but to the Spirit. It's not to say we cannot sin after being freed from being sin's slave, but we no longer have to, for we have liberty in the Lord. To say we cannot stop is to deny the grace of our Father and his Son Jesus. However, only if we stop setting our affections and lusts on worldly goods and pleasures, which pass away; instead, setting our affections above, where Christ sits at the right hand of the throne of God, where the treasure of our heart ought to be. Yet not without faith. For if we come to God we must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

@ God knew about all your sins long before you were born, long before you even did them. And it is written that Jesus carried our sins in His body on the cross, long before you actually did them. That means you are going to do those sins. Jesus did not die for sins people did not do. But >>sin is refusing to love your neighbor the >>same as yourself. All the commandments are summed up as ONE RULE "Love your neighbor the same as you love yourself" Romans13:9. So yes, we can stop sinning. Buit when we stumble and fall, God picks us up again and reminds us of Jesus on the cross, who already carried our sins in His own body and paid the penalty for it on our behalf.
