I'm here in 2022. I have multiracial children. My youngest has hair that's good for braiding and cornrowing. I had someone doing his hair but life has gotten hectic for her. So I'm hoping to learn. I know how to basic braid. This video gives me more hope. I just need that type of comb and a doll to practice on. Because my youngest is 3. I had to hold him and bribe and distract him while my neighbor was braiding his hair. But he loves having braids. He would repeatedly walk to the mirror and look at his hair with a huge grin. So cute 🥰

She's 9 now and I feel like I'm just getting neat enough work to experiment, but I don't blow dry her hair before braiding. Her hair is mid-back now but shrinkage is a beast so it usually hangs just past her shoulders in braids.

A “Teacher at its finest “ been trying for years to learn how to braid and this just taught me . I have a doll head I use to practice showing the first corn roll to the second has to be the most accurate thing ever and idk why it actually helped me while motivated me like would you look at there !!! By her placing that in the video I knew I would finally learn properly how to braid . I immediately realized what I was doing wrong during her teachings. When you have someone who genuinely wanna see others “Learn “ what they “Know” that my friends is called a teacher . Many may wear the tittle but very few have the heart and passion while being genuine. I thank you so much for this video and shout out to me because thanks to my teacher I finally graduated from not “knowing “to have learned how !! Thanks best teacher ever ❤

I have watched your video a couple of times, and I am going in (on my day off) tomorrow to braid her hair for her. Your video was very helpful. I'm a white woman too, but I've got a huge crush on my friend and roommate who's black. I don't know if she likes me or not (I'm a bit of a coward) but I think it would be nice to be able to do her hair for her instead of her having to do it herself and have her arms get tired, or having to pay through the nose for someone else to braid it for her. Even if she doesn't like me in _that_ way, it would still be a nice thing to do for my friend... assuming that she'd want me to touch her hair. 😅 I know that asking to touch black hair is a huge faux pas... I don't 100% understand why, since I'm cool with my friends touching my hair, but I don't have to understand it- I just have to respect it. Honestly, I almost hope she doesn't return my feelings- I've heard that relationships can get messy and have some drama, and I don't want to have our friendship ruined because of relationship drama. At the same time, it would take me at least a couple of weeks to heal and let go of my feelings for her, which would probably make me bad company. I hope she'll understand that it wasn't her fault, and it won't be anger or bitterness that will make me be less talkative. I'll just be trying to hold back tears- which again, wouldn't be her fault, and I wouldn't want her to feel bad about it. Feelings suck. 😞 Ah well. No matter how it all shakes out, I'm educating myself, which is always a good thing. Please excuse my over-sharing. 😅

You were very patient and clear in your tutorial thank you! I discovered that I do not have the proper fingertip grip I use more of second knuckle grip and it makes a looser braid and hand fatigue. I also grab the entire row of hair to add to the braid instead of splitting it into 3 additions. I will try your technique. I feel encouraged!
